God certainly has a sense of humor! After waiting almost 17 yrs to do this together, Rod and I are finally in the Grand Canyon BUT since we left Sedona this am, for almost 100 miles we have had SNOW! As you know, I am a Florida beach girl who just DOSEN'T DO SNOW anymore. We've had 5 inches and it is still snowing. We could not see the canyon tonight, but we ate good piza and are on canyon property in one of their hotels and have warm, cozzy beds with down comforters and tomorrow is supposed to be a better day. I certainly hope so because we leave Monday to "hurry" across the rest of the way, thru Las Vegas (briefly) and then on to my girlfriends house in Sacramento, CA., then Portland, OR. We will be moving fast because my new job starts 4/24. Can't wait for Rod to see the canyon tomorrow. Joey

Hey Melody,
If you get this way to see the Grand Canyon, I hope you'll hollar . . . . I'm probably on the way from your house to the Canyon!

It must have looked pretty awesome Joey! I've never been to the Grand Canyon-on my "bucket" list.

Sounds like you are having a good time. Did you miss all the bad weather?

Take care Joey and drive safely-

Joey- We saw the Grand Canyon in July two years ago and it was so amazing. However, I bet the snowy landscape adds yet another depth of beauty unavailable in the summer!! What a journey these past days have been and I have enjoyed the journaling of the trip here on the MJF Connection. Best of luck in your new position In Oregon. One good thing about being a traveler is that the assignment is just for 13 weeks and then you can do something different. Portland in the summer will be wonderful! Beats the miserable humidity of Florida any day!!

Joey . . . it is still April and anything is possible for weather. We generally get the same weather as in Flagstaff as it rolls our direction. It snowed on and off all day yesterday and this morning. This same weather can and will repeat itself many, many times before summer actually comes, which is usually not until early June.
As Marilyn says, the snow will make the view spectaculr. We visit Zion and Bryce one year in early June and the same thing happened. The snow on the "hoo-doos" at Bryce just made it all the more beautiful!

Life is a never ending adventure, isn't it!!
Enjoy the ride!

Joey, the snow will only make the views more breath taking! Drive safely and have a great day! I have really enjoyed following you on your journey...I have been to many of the places you have seen so it's fun to relive the memories.

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
