Posted - Apr 11 2012 : 10:33:06 AM back when my little sis was hit with Hyp C..dandelion root was one of the things I was told to dry & grind up for her to use to help clean out the poisons in her liver........its a dietredic(sp?) that helps pull any poisons/toxics from the body.....Just know if you use this as a coffee to drink plenty of water during the day....it has become one of my favorite plants as you can use the blooms in jellies/jams......leaves as a cooked or raw food & then the roots dried......plus my chickens love it when I pick it for them.......wonderful so called weed!...Michele'

Posted - Apr 11 2012 : 05:32:28 AM Hubby removed one from me yesterday, I removed two last week from me and one on him. I love seeing our deer in the morning but sure hate the ticks that live here just waiting for a good meal to walk by whether it's a deer or us. Thanks for the recipe.

Posted - Apr 10 2012 : 11:52:30 AM Hi, Kristina,
I was just looking at your blog (I subscribed, by the way - it's great!) and I was wondering what you use dandelion root for? I've heard of dandelion jelly (I make lilac jelly and it's like sweet sunshine in a canning jar), and I've heard of dandelion wine and using the leaves for salads and the root for kind of a coffee substitute, but you mentioned your jar was filling up again. What do you use dandelion root for?
I'm just getting into basic herbalism and learning what grows around me and what it's used for. My favorite so far is plantain the wonder-weed! :)
