Hi Everybody!
I absolutely love spring and summer time, don't you?
What's some of your favorite things about it?
Here are a few of mine :
Waking up early and having tea on the porch with my mama,
longer evenings and laying in bed reading at night listening to the sounds of nature outside, floral print dresses and skirts, all of the flowers,
meals my mama makes outside on our grill - soooo yummy! (: -
watching the sun rise up every morning and watching the day begin, - I love to see all of the birds start flying around getting ready for the day! - , Hearing the crickets and owls at night, seeing the stars come out, watching the sun set and taking evening walks with my mama! I could keep going and make a giant list! (:
I love spring and summer and it's just beginning to be an amazing one!
I absolutely just adore it!
I would love to hear your thoughts about spring and summer, and your favorites have a lovely day everyone! - And happy Easter!! (: -
Love in Christ!

My favorite season is fall, but as I get older, I enjoy spring alot more (minus the allergies) the cool crisp mornings help wake me up and I like driving to work in the dark because when its light I feel like i'm late. lol I love getting outside and getting my container gardens put together and watching my son ride his bike.

I love the longer days, more daylight, so I can spend more time with my animals and garden. During the summer it is not unusual for us to sit down to dinner at 8 p.m. or later, after we've wrung every moment of outdoor time we can squeeze into the day.

Thursday was such a great day that defind spring for me. In the morning I woke up hearing water drip from the roof and needed a jacket. After I got out of class the sun was shining and an impish wind was blowing from ever changing directions. The day was fresh, clear and bright. It was beautiful. I love that about spring- and the days when the air is so soft that it caresses your skin. Summer is great for those hot bone-softening days when you can just lay back and sip some frosty iced tea and enjoy a garden ripened tomato. Yum. I love the warm seasons!

The things I love about Spring is the fact I get to see my neighbors outside again...seeing everyone planting in their gardens... Having the children playing outside and hearing them laughing and having fun...Taking walks in the parks with the trees fully bloomed and seeing all the different birds flying in the open skies...but also my family and I actually have a "Welcome Spring" party at my home. I send out invitations with a Spring theme.. and a specific date in mind. We are a silly bunch of people in my family.

What I love about Summer and Spring

Here's the thing,
I love Summer and I love Spring

Robins returning
Butterflies and flowers makes my heart sing

Blue skies, puffy clouds floating
Green grass, picnics, sudden storms, thunder rolling

Laundry hanging,
Breeze blowing

Out on the water, fishing
Finding rainbows and wishing

Kicked back in the sun, napping
Watching fireworks, ooo-ing and ahh-ing

Chickens pecking and scratching
Kittens and puppies romping

In the garden, planting, weeding, eating
Bees buzzing

Out the backdoor watching
My not-so-little-anymore son exploring

Tears threaten falling
But I am smiling.

Here's the thing,
I love Summer and I love Spring.

Oh golly, I looove spring and fall both.

I love the early mornings sipping coffee on the porch, then enjoying iced tea on the porch, and then enjoying hot tea on the porch.

I love the smell of my flowers and herbs that surround my porch and home.

I love walking out to put clothes on the line in my bare feet.

I love the sunshine on my face early in the morning.

I love to go camping!

Love to watch the sunrise and the sunsets.

Funny you should mention floral skirts....I have many summer long skirts.

I love picking wild flowers and wild berries for jellies and jams.

I love my summer garden bounty also.

I love to enjoy meals on the porch, and grilling our meals too.

This year I am loving having a baby goat to watch from the window. She is so full of energy and life. Her romping and running makes me smile. She plays with a giant rubber ball and hops on the logs. So fun to watch.

I love that I can walk out a few steps and gather fresh herbs for my meals. Yum!

....awwwww....wonderful things shared here today.

All of it except the wind in the spring. But my favorite is the baby animals and the flowers. New life. I have lost so many dear ones in the last few years that new life is so very special to me.

I've been pondering this a lot, lately. The area we currently live in is mostly farmland, so there are TONS of bluebonnets, and other Texas wildflowers. If you've never had the chance to just stand in a field of bluebonnets and smell them, give it a try! I LOVE passing by a field with the windows in my truck rolled down, smelling them as I whizz through turns!

I love watching the cows at the farm down the road, seeing which ones are going to be mommas and seeing how big the calves from last year are getting.

I love hearing Josh (future husband) ask "Hey, when we goin fishin again?" and going to the lake with my best girlfriend and her husband and collective kin.

I love the Farmers Markets opening back up, and honestly, I'm a bit excited about Baseball again.

One of my other favorite things about Spring is the Lonestar Round Up car show. A bunch of my friends have or had hot rods and we all meet up in Down Town Austin and cruise around, kind of like in American Grafitti.

Like everyone, it's just the renewal of life and everything that happens in the Spring time. It gets kind of hot here, and last year we had bad storms followed by a horrendous drought, but it's been a very rainy year for us here this year!

Hm...violets. The "new" smell in the air. Baby birds and bunnies. Rainbows.

I love what everyone wrote. I love seeing the hummingbirds and other baby birds. The bees and the butterflies. The sound of lawn mowers and thunderstorms. Watching the spring plantings get bigger.

YES!

The possibilities, the promise of new life and the Urge to create. The warmth of the sun, the brightness of the colors, the planning & the cultivation. Getting my hands dirty, getting my jeans dirty... watching my seedlings pop up in their starters!

The moon seems so much bigger on a clear spring full-moon night. And other nights, if I'm REALLY lucky, after a satisfying day's work there is nothing like relaxing on my back porch and watching a storm blow up from the river valley. The lightning shows are the best thing in prime time!

Mia: I absolutely loved reading your post, especially the things you love to share with your mama. I also love hearing the owls at night, it amazes me how silent they are when they fly. I love to look at the stars, at times I can lay on the deck at night and look up for hours. They amaze me! The sounds of the night make me smile and laugh; some are down right scary. There are swamps all around my house, so I hear lots of weird noises. I'm not much of a morning person, so I can't explain the sounds like you have. I do love spring and summer. Happy Easter to you and your mother. Again, I loved reading your post.
