Posted - Mar 24 2012 : 1:40:35 PM Did some scavenging today with DH and came across an unfinished burlap rug with a very pretty design and I can't find anything on line about it.
It reads 32 X 57 inches "Blue Rose Hooked Rug" #2066 Made in Canada...
Anyone know anything about this company? Also how old the rug might be? I tried researching on line, but couldn't find anything. I will post a photo later. I've never seen one like this. It hasn't been "hooked" at all-just the outline of the pattern and it's in really good shape....
Any information about these types of rugs (burlap back-made in canada) would be greatly appreciated!

Posted - Mar 25 2012 : 09:01:48 AM if its the type I am thinking of, "Rosy Greer" the football player made them famous, cause he would sit and punch/hook them while on an airplane, flying to the next game. Most were meant to be wall hangings, cause they were not washable...

Posted - Mar 25 2012 : 06:45:48 AM You gals crack me up! I dont know much about these things but I have to agree, that it does sound like punch art since its on burlap. I have a small punch art kit that I picked up at the thrift...been meaning to sit and try it out. Perhaps you just gave me the kick I need Melody! Good luck in your quest, I hope you find your answer, and enjoy your new beauty! Hugs,

Posted - Mar 24 2012 : 9:11:43 PM Sounds like punch art, not hook. Punch art can be done on muslin or burlap. Try Joann's for the punch needle I have seen that they carry those there. |
