Either or! I would love to have at least a pair...it doesn't have to be a matched set.

Posted - Mar 28 2012 : 05:04:29 AM Sharon, I know! I really try for authenticity, but sheesh the price of original cafe au lait bowls on line makes me SAD!
I looked at the link and they are so SWEET! I am just going to have to save up or give in and get something similar....

Posted - Mar 27 2012 : 7:54:55 PM Those are so nice Melody. I can't believe how expensive they are though.
I found some patterned footed bowls that you could probably use instead and less expensive too!

Posted - Mar 27 2012 : 09:06:34 AM Oh yeah, they would function for anything, they are great bowls. It's just that shape that is typical of rice bowls. I've seen them used with chopsticks. Happy hunting! CJ

Posted - Mar 27 2012 : 06:28:32 AM Rice bowls CJ? This type of bowl can be a very functional for soups or broth or coffee.I think I'll check again on etsy and see if I can find rice bowls that could double as Cafe au Lait bowls-they might be cheaper than what I have been finding on line. I mean who is going to notice whether it's a cafe au lait bowl or a rice bowl? LOL!
Thanks for posting CJ I never would have thought to look for those too!

Posted - Mar 27 2012 : 06:08:30 AM No not really Alee....Just handle-less bowls about 5 to 5-1/2 inches across and about 3-inches tall.
I have been keeping an eye out around here but I am not finding any vintage or antique or even newer ones locally and I thought someone on the forum might have some tucked in the kitchen cupboard somewhere they are not using. Aren't they sweet?
