Posted - Mar 21 2012 : 07:26:21 AM I cannot find my iron!!! I am working on adding button loops to one of my DH's mountain man shirts. I have unpicked the area where the loops will go. I have cut the strip I need to make the loops. I need to iron the strip in order to make the loops.
Do you think I can find my iron????? No! It is nowhere to be found. The ironing board is there. The spray bottle is there. No iron!
Searched the house. No iron!
Now, I am wondering if DH found something to do with it in the garage.
What the Heck!

Posted - Apr 02 2012 : 11:44:02 AM Given that I spent twenty minutes last night looking for Mister's glasses-cleaning stuff and his phone case, this gave me a good case of the giggles. (Now if I could just find my paper shredder....)
Have any of you ever watched the Ellery Queen television show? The main character habitually forgets his paperwork, case evidence, etc. in the refrigerator. Whenever we misplace something at my house, one of us is certain to ask, "Did you have an 'Ellery moment'?"
(For the record, we have yet to find any missing objects in the refrigerator. Breaks the tension though!)

Posted - Apr 02 2012 : 08:25:23 AM Yes. This is a funny thread but I too have lost my iron. I finally found it in a bucket of supplies we took to the fair one year. Well I got a new one for my birthday from my mom so all is good. Right now my iron is in my hand quilting bag. Safe and sound.

Posted - Apr 02 2012 : 08:10:05 AM That reminds me, Nicole. I once lost my wedding band. I looked the world over and could not find it. One day I was cleaning my dresser off. My hubbie had thrown some change on there. A dime had nestled itself into my ring. It fit so perfectly that I didnt realize it until I picked up the dime and the ring fell off. Weird!!

Posted - Mar 22 2012 : 6:44:15 PM This is such a cute post. I lost my keys in the freezer. And my wedding ring, but that's cause I reached in to the bottom of a chest type freezer and was digging around in there and it came off. I knew it was in there, the keys...don't know how I got them in there, unless I was looking through it before a grocery run.

Posted - Mar 22 2012 : 09:19:10 AM It can be entertaining to hear "lost & found" stories!
I lost my checkbook this morning (not so funny!) which never happens. I had put it in my camera bag which is right next to my purse after I paid my neighbor for eggs she delivered.

Posted - Mar 21 2012 : 1:14:23 PM Isn't it odd how things wind up missing? OK, socks I can understand but I'm with Sherone, how do you lose an iron? I've lost many a thing in my life, some later found in odd places (like the Marly's iron in the freezer). My hair dryer ended up in our unfinished basement once (DH used it to defrost a freezer). Somethings never show up again! But I'm always fond of saying:
You'll find it in the last place you look!
Happy hunting!

Posted - Mar 21 2012 : 12:39:39 PM I was missing my hair dryer once. Turns out my husband took it to use for parts for a coffee roaster :)
Hopefully you can find it soon, or maybe it's time for a new one :)

Posted - Mar 21 2012 : 11:48:47 AM Funny you should say that Lora, that's where I once found my iron. Why I put it there? No clue. Good thread. Marly

Posted - Mar 21 2012 : 09:00:21 AM I just found mine a few weeks ago. I hid it from my 4 y/o son, and forgot. It was in a picnic basket. I nearly lost my mind trying to find it. Buying a new iron is not that exciting.

Posted - Mar 21 2012 : 08:19:20 AM I've never lost my iron, but I lost my two favorite pie plates. I turned the house upside down, and finally had to go get new ones because I had to make pies for the next day. A couple of weeks later I found them under a pile of tablecloths in the linen closet - huh??? I can't imagine how or when I put them there - but there they were!
So, I'm sure you're iron will show up in some very unexpected place!
Hugs, Luanne
