Posted - Mar 12 2012 : 3:19:30 PM I have been asked to organize a going away party for my boss. He is moving to the Fort Worth area.
Anyone have ideas on whatr to do for invites, food, decorations, etc?

Posted - Mar 12 2012 : 9:30:25 PM Find or make a Texas flag, have everyone sign it. Cowboy hats and boots with bluebonnets and other flowers in it. Spicy roasted pecans ( since the Pecan tree is the state tree. Also you could think about some how using the longhorn and the mocking bird (state bird). Maybe you could find a cow skull with horns use it as a center piece. Good luck. Laurie

Posted - Mar 12 2012 : 4:50:13 PM Bandanas for napkins. Bluebonnets and sunflowers stuck in old cowboy boots make cute decorations. If you are lucky enough to have any barbed wire it can be shaped into cute stuff. Barbecue can be as easy as a roast cooked in a crockpot and shredded and covered with barbecue sauce. Pinto beans or ranch style beans are good not matter how formal.

Posted - Mar 12 2012 : 3:58:22 PM Texas is the lone star state , so red stars, cowboy hats/boots for table decor, "steak" is the "texas" meat, soooo, barbecue is always good, if the party is casual...potato salad, if not...baked potatos. Have everyone dress as "Texan's, just a few ideas...
