Posted - Sep 06 2006 : 11:55:30 AM Hi all,
I missed you all while I was away, but we had a really great visit with our families in NY and RI. Although, some sadness occurred, as my dad has been diagnosed with ALS and is basically just dying. I am glad he got to see all of us even though it was hard.
Just wanted to check in and say Hi. I missed my farmgirl friends.

Posted - Sep 06 2006 : 1:50:39 PM Thank you all for your thoughts. I visited my family in Westchester County (Peekskill), which is about 35 miles north of New York City.
Karin,
Thanks - my dad must've had this for awhile cuz he is going downhill so quickly. BTW-my sister went to college near Jamestown - St. Bonaventure. I really love that part of the state. Have fun.

So sorry to hear about your dad... My dad died ten years ago next March from ALS. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
What part of New York did you visit? I am heading east for a conference at the end of the month in Columbus, OH. I plan to stay three extra days so I can visit my mom's home town of Jamestown, NY. I haven't been there since 1992.
Glad you're back safely, even if it was a bittersweet trip.
