Posted - Mar 03 2012 : 12:22:36 PM with my kite flying today. A while back my DH and I went to Sam's and I saw these really neat kites. So I picked one up for my boys (grown men) and decided that I would get my self one. Thinking it might be good exercise for me to run around with this turtle kite with the long tail. So today it is really windy so I decided to give it a try. Only thing I forgot you are not suppose to fly a kite around trees. Got it flying pretty good then all of a sudden a strong wing came up and it started doing loop d loops. And landed in top of the oak tree. I had to get the DH to help me get it out. So so much for kite flying today. Will have to try it again in the back behind our property where there is no trees another day.... LOL ...I loved flying a kite when I was a kid.

Posted - Mar 06 2012 : 06:50:26 AM Wow, I used to love kite flying when I was a kid! (I had this gorgeous kite for YEARS until a school "friend" destroyed it. I never, ever forgave her.) I think I'll have to pick one up; the wind by the lake should be perfect! Thanks for the great idea, Dorinda!

Posted - Mar 05 2012 : 09:53:19 AM Dorinda, What fun! Can't wait until we can go kite flying here. Couple more weeks. We like to go with my friends, my dd, and their granddaughters to my dd's school. The football field is great for flying kites. Flew one last year for the first time since I was ten years old. You should post a pic of you and your kite!
