I've got a flower gardener in my house who keeps asking when she can start her seeds safely. I have to gently remind her "not yet - don't let the weather fool you". We know all too well that an IL winter ends when the thermometer hits 80, and not a day before LOL!

We're definitely ready for spring here...we tapped 42 maple trees on the 15th of February, and today made our first batch of maple syrup! Got 8 bottles (12 oz.) and it's sooo tasty!

We've had a strange winter in Ontario, very mild, and this is the earliest we've ever tapped. (It's usually March 1 when we do it.)

Actually, I'm not ready yet. We've had so little snow this winter that it's a bit concerning. It hasn't been that long since we were in drought . . just wanting more snow for our water supply.
