I took off for 4 1/2 days to go on a trip with my mom. We went down to my grandparents house and had a good visit. It's hard seeing people you love get older, but I am so glad we went.

I am starting to seperate my feelings from the farmhouse too. It will be sad to leave but I think since I know there is nothing we can do to stay- I am ready for the move. I think I am going to get boxes today and start packing.

The weekend had a good effect on my mental outlook on various things. It was a good weekend to just have a reset button so to speak.

Anyway- I hope your weekend went well!

Thanks Jonni and Frannie! You gals are wonderful friends :) I am just glad that Tala gets to stay out here where she is happy and the landlord loves her. While I was gone he put her in her pen for me (she was out with the cows) I didn't know why but I saw him today and he told me they were feeding corn silage to the cows and he didn't want her to get sick. So then he told me that they just put a rope around her neck and his daughter (11 but a tad bit youngish for 11) walked her in. He calls her "Sweetie" and feeds her treats. I wish things had worked out for us to stay out here but at least I know that he won't mind her being out here and that she will be well cared for. :)

i am trying to catch up on everything, alee, so forgive me if i dont quite know what is going on.
i feel sometimes that my brain "woke up" about 2-3 months ago and that i am starting to have my old life back.
anyway, i couldnt say it any better than jonni, it is a real pain to move and family and good friends can really help when things are changing too much.
i do think your new surroundings look so wonderful.....i love the bungalow houses, so warm and charming.
i know you will make a home where ever you are.
love from texas!!!!

I was very sorry to learn you had to leave the farmhouse, Alee--I was sick most of last week and then the weekend, and now I'm catching up on all the "news", good and bad. At least Tala will be kept where she is feeling good and hopefully, you will like the farmhand and trust him to care for her when you're not around.

It's terrible to have to uproot again--I hate moving. Hate it. When I unpacked my last box, my landlord did something similar--he and his wife were divorcing and he wanted to move back to Indiana so he was selling my house and renting out the other...I sat down and cried and thought, "hey--why don't I just buy it? I love staying here and I'm NOT packing up that box I just unpacked!!!!"

I'm glad you had a weekend with your mom and your grands--yes, family can put a lot of things into perspective and thank goodness you've got a good one when you need a little shelter from the storm.
