Hi Ladies! I used to have several penpals but over the years I lost touch with all but two of them. I miss fun mail and long letters...does anyone here want a penpal?
Just to tell you a little about me...some of you may remember me. I'm Jacob's mama, he is the 6 year old who went through cancer last year. It's been almost six months since his last treatment and he is doing good!!!!!!! Besides Jacob, I also have Becca who is 8 and Joe who is 3. We homeschool. I am 29 years old myself. We live in town for now but hope to move to the country within a few years. I still do a lot in town - garden, compost, use the clothesline, grow flowers.
I love long and frequent letters (as in...once a month or more...it's too easy to lose touch with letters only a few times a year). I don't care what age you are - if you like to write so do I! :)
If interested, message me and we can exchange addresses!
-Elizabeth

Elizabeth, got your wonderful letter and will be getting one off to you this week - will be later in the week since we'll be snowed in again with another blizzard starting tonight and going through Tues. night. When we're snowed in I'd rather write letters than do house cleaning.

Hi Annie, I mailed your letter out today (Monday). Can't wait for your next letter.

Thanks for all the e-mails, ladies! I'm slowly going through the list and writing letters! Hopefully you all will be receiving a letter from me soon! If you responded on this thread, but didn't e-mail me, please e-mail your address to me and my letter will be on the way at some point! I'm so excited - hoping to fill my mailbox once again! :)

Julie, personally don't know anyone by that name, but not to say there isn't someone in town by that name. We live in the country, so really don't know the "city" folk like we do the "country" folk.

Just wanted to say Thanks Elizabeth! Got your letter today. It was very enjoyable. Sending you one tomorrow!

Annie, my family is from the same area as you! Did you know anyone with the surnames of Coates or Neel?

I would like to have a penpal, too

If you don't mind e-mail (I'm horrible with letters), I'll be your penpal!

A hook, a book, and a good cup of coffee....

I love penpals. I have a friend in Japan and another in Austria. I love emails, snailmail, whatever. I'm in Washington, now but I'm a Canadian who married an American and have lived in CA and ID. I have two children my son Jackson will be six this month and my daughter Nikole is four. Maybe Jackson and Jacob could become penpals too?? I'm so sorry to hear about the cancer. I think something happening to my children is the worst thing I can imagine. I homeschool too but I'm a decade older than you and I live WAY out of town. I've got chickens, guinea fowl, goats, horse, rabbits, cats, dogs...... can you tell I like animals???? If you've found enough penpals already, no worries; but if you'd like to I'm available!! :D

Excuse the mess & the noise, my children are making happy memories

Elizabeth, would love to be a pen pal to you. As a side note, I grew up in Hampton, went to college in Mason City and lived in Clear Lake when I was married to #1 husband before the kids and I moved up the Minneapolis. Also, my granddaughter's name is Elizabeth. How ironic is that?
Send me an e-mail.
So glad to hear your son is doing better now. How scary that had to be for your family.
FarmDream Posted - Feb 09 2012 : 9:21:09 PM
Oh me me me! I'd like to give it a try. I've never had a penpal. I will send you a message directly.
