Posted - Feb 01 2012 : 07:30:34 AM HELP!
I have been volunteered by DD (Stage Manager)at the University of Wisconsin "Theater on the Bay" crew for the production of the play "The Diary of Anne Frank", as an assistant in the Wardrobe Dept. This will be DD's 7th play and her 2nd stage manager position at the university. All very new and exciting to me as I am no longer a stage mother, but an actual participant behind the scenes...But, I am having a heck of a time locating reasonably priced used 40's paraphernalia for the set especially hats, gloves, and knitted sweater vests for the men, cardigans, etc.
I am on continually on the "hunt" at local thrift stores and I am coming up empty handed. I checked on line but, my oh my the prices!!!
Today, DD and I will be once again scouring the storage unit at the school to see if we can find what we need, but from the little stuff there is, it is woefully less than par and pretty limited.
If anyone would be willing to donate any of these items for the production I would be more than willing to pay for shipping! After the play the items will be stored in totes for future use at the university.
Any HELP would be greatly appreciated~Just drop me an e-mail!
Thank you ladies!

Post notes at churches, supermarkets, senior centers telling exactly what you are looking for. There are probably many people who need to be motivated by a "good cause" to clean out their attics. |
