Posted - Jan 31 2012 : 12:25:08 PM I found 3 photos that I had actually dated, for my 17 year-old to have in the school yearbook. Oh my.... I really let my organizing go bad, in the way of the kids scrapbooks. I didn't date half the photos and I have scrapbooks that have never been worked on....oh my, oh my... She asked me for a baby picture from age 2 or younger. I had to dig to find it, but now I realize how bad I got at updating their school books. I was great at it with baby #1, somewhat good at it for baby #2, and not quite at all with baby #3....after that the baby books were almost nothing....good grief. Anyone else in this "boat?"
I guess that job is going on my "to-do" list this year. I think the kids helping with their own books would be fun anyway.

Posted - Feb 07 2012 : 10:06:39 AM My dad turned 80 last Tuesday. I was able to go to AK to visit him. Both my brothers were able to come (from opposite sides of the state!) albeit on different days. My mother made a slide show of the first 80 years. I think he cried when he saw the photo of his mother holding him as a baby. She died before my parents got married.
Anyway, it was fun to reminisce and hear him talk about the pictures. His short term memory is going, as in he asks several times what he is doing during the day. But he remembers specs about different machinery he has owned or worked on! The background music was from the Smokey Mountain Hymns collection. She started with "Precious Memories." Tear jerker.
So Dad got to party all week long, what with each of us arriving on a different day!
It stayed around 20 degrees and snowed several days and the wind blew. Dad had to start his loader to plow the driveway!

Posted - Feb 01 2012 : 06:15:02 AM We did get a laugh at all the photos in my box. They grow up so fast. With my second oldest graduating this year, she is happy to do her own scrapbook. She asked for a shadow box too. I kept her t-shirt from t-ball also.
