Check out the new stamps www.usps.com -- The Quilts of Gee's Bend. I just love these stamps -- perfect for girlfriend correspondence! Like putting a little work of art on the envelope.

Yes, the quilts were 'on tour' a couple of years ago -- I missed seeing them, but found the story of the women who made them just fascinating and inspiring.

There was a big newspaper article here in Tallahassee about the ladies of Gee's Bend. I read every word, and it is a great story. These women are descendants of slaves and were taught from generation to generation to quilt. Art lives and creativity abounds in the most humble of souls. Perhaps there more than anywhere. God bless these women who make quilts for comfort and art for the love of God and His folks.

Peace

Yes, aren't those so cool.....I just love them. My husband purchased their very large book for me, so I will have to have those stamps!

my grandma does that cordinates her stamp to the correspondence inside. I never heard of any one else thinking that way. I like that you do.

have a lovely day and may God bless you and keep you safe
