It is about placemat size and made of wool fabric. I did blanket stitch around all the pieces. Not hard at all..just cut out shapes and figured out what I wanted..pinned them in place and went for it. It has two layers of the black backing fabric so I could do the blanket stitch around the edge..so the back is covered and you just see black fabric. I am thinking of making some little needle cases with the scraps.

ditto to everything said by the other farmgirls. the kids are too great! i think you deserve at least a blue ribbon. i love the autumn table mat, is it made of felt?
you know me, i look at the table mat and think , with some modifications, i could turn that in to a pincushion. i think i've been crafting too much.
you are such an inspiration, aunt jenny, thanks for sharing the pics. i loved them.

I am glad you all had fun as a family together at the fair. I think that is just wonderful. Almost makes you want to take a family photo of all the winners and their items and frame it on the wall.

They are too cute, you must be so proud, what a great mom you are,just look at what you are doing and what they are doing, what a great accomplishment for all of you, and you can just see the love you have put into these children and how they have given it right back. Even on the not so good days you must know that you are doing great things by your children.
