If your New Year's resolution involved getting more exercise, you may get a laugh out of this. Don't they always say an exercise machine ends up as a clothes rack? My husband helped me make this out of a broken old Nordic Track we were keeping around as "parts" for our newer one. It's much more efficient than just draping clothes over the Nordic Track standing unused in a corner.

Too funny, Amie. What a great and creative idea! Wish I could think of something to do with my mom's treadmill. Just a huge hunk of metal headed for the salvage yard(if we can get it out of the basement). :)

That's awesome, Amie--love it. I would have done the same thing, except...I've never owned any exercise equipment!!!!

The best part is, there are two of these boards on each Nordic Track so I could make another one. The first was way more of a project than expected, but now we know what to watch out for and would probably do it differently. Not sure my poor DH would help me a second time though!

BTW, kidding aside, I really love the NOrdic Track for exercise. I prefer walking but it's a nice substitute when the weather is terrible and the sidewalks icy. We buy them used, so they need to be replaced every few years, but we find them on craigslist for about $50 so it's a very reasonable investment.

Oh Amie - this is great. We have an old Nordic track in the basement. I used it for sevarl years but got tired of it. My husband now wants to buy a treadmill - but I keep telling him we have to get rid of the Nordic track first because I don't want to clutter up the basement with more stuff that we don't use. Its been a bit of an ongoing debate... He'll get a kick out of this. I'd rather just go for a walk...

Very Cute and useful too Amie! I definately got a chuckle outta that one. I (like so many) made a promise to myself to try and be more active in 2012. I am off to the store now to buy myself a much needed new pair of sneakers in hopes that will motivate me even more...LOL

CJ- I have seen the skis used that way and it is very neat!

Skis! That's a great idea too. I could put those by the back door...I just may start looking for a pair.

Our daughter has used one pair of downhill skis that way in the entryway between living room and their bedroom. While here for Christmas she went shopping and found two more pair and is mounting a second pair in the front door entry for coats/hats, etc. They look great and work wonderful!

What a hoot!!!!!!!!!!!! My friend tripped over one of her exercise machines the other night. The girl is bruised up all over her body. I'll have to tell her about your idea.
Thanks for sharing.
