I absolutely love watching the Rose Parade on New Year's Day. I always have a fresh package of sugar wafer cookies on hand and curl up in a comfy chair and watch it from start to finish. I especially like the behind-the-scenes stories about how they put together the parade floats with the colorful seeds and flower petals.

It marks the end of the Holidays, the start of the New Years, and with all of those beautiful flowers on the floats, it really gets my gardening blood flowing! I hope it is a beautiful sunny day in Pasadena tomorrow morning!!

I have to say that I am disappointed that they moved it to Monday. I really enjoy watching it and it just kind of "brings in" the new year watching all of those gorgeous flowers on the amazing floats and of course the beautiful horses too.
I was surprised to see the commercial showing it on Monday the 2nd instead of tomorrow, but I guess it will give us something to look forward to on Monday instead.
Enjoy the parade!

They change it to monday because of people who go to church on sundays, and also monday will be a legal holiday cause new years fell on sunday, just like christmas...

i love watching the rose parade too......and i think they used to televise the "mummers" parade in philadelphia, too. i was wondering why they decided to change the parade to monday......it really is because there are so many other games on that day? maybe there is something wrong with me, but it disappoints me that they are "breaking with tradition"!

Hi Paula, just a quick note so you won't be disappointed tomorrow...the parade and Rose Bowl Game will be on MONDAY this year. I suspect it's because so many "important" NFL games are being played on Sunday. I was surprised, but checked on the offical Rose Bowl site and there it was.

The morning breeze has secrets to tell you. Do not go back to sleep.
