DH and I don't go out on New Years. Can't afford it. So we're staying home and having snacky things. At midnight, I'm going to take one of my son's inflateable beach balls and drop it from our cat walk, that spans from our bedroom loft to a window over our kitchen. Then I can say that I've personally seen a ball drop and I was the one who dropped it.

Well we've cleaned and rearranged both of the kids rooms. The kitchen is next, then going to strip and change all the bedding. Family tradition we are making egg rolls for dinner. Not staying up late. Kids go to bed at 8 as usual we will probably have a drink together (wine for him grape juice for me thanks to pregnancy) after they are asleep and talk about what we expect out of 2012. It's going to be a trying year.

for so many years (6 or 7 at least!) i cooked a really nice dinner and invited one or two other couples over......anyway, last year was more hectic than usual and i thought, well maybe someone else will do it this year...no one did???? anyway, i saw some of these people and they told me they missed me having the dinner but they were just too busy and tired to do it, and it was expensive.....etc.........This year dick and i are gonna grill some filet mignon, i'll make scalloped potatoes, some salad, etc and we'll have some wine...just the two of us......frankly, i'm kind of disappointed in my "friends"....

10:00 dinner reservations with my husband at Virgils (he's the front house mgr., but the establishment has been showcased on Food Network as a "have to go to" and I'm just happy to spend the late evening with him. Mom will come to our house and watch Violet and hang with the pups.

Dinner (garlic pork roast with kraut and mashed potatoes) and a movie at home with my guys, then watching the ball drop in Times
square. A loving peck and warm hug to each, and then we'll sigh a big sigh of relief and get 2012 rolling with a long, good night's sleep... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! Hug - Nini

First, out to dinner with friends at 5:30, then movies at home, and bed at the regular time. If, and it's a BIG if, we manage to stay up, I'll watch fireworks on Pikes Peak. I've only seen the fireworks once in all the years we've lived here.

We will go out in the neighborhood and watch the fireworks. And- we'll give thanks for 2011 and the new year 2012.

A luncheon then cards and board games afterwards with my hubbys family this afternoon. Then it's a quiet evening at home watching movies and relaxing. Making plans for the new years.
