Posted - Dec 06 2011 : 1:50:14 PM Ok, I may be slow at getting around to things.... but my excuse for not having read the Dec/Jan issue of my MJF mag is cuz it got buried under a stack of "Must-Do's"..... I just found it, after finally cleaning up my desk! lol!
Any how, decided I would sit a spell, & read it while having lunch...
Now for the "confession" part,,,, I was reading the article on the "Buggy Barn" which by the way is only 13miles up the road from my house.... I usually go to the BB Quilt show each year,,,but was not able to this year due to a conflicting schedule.... bummer...
However, I do have a little bit of the 'Buggy Barn' in my garden... yep! I pillferred a couple of Hollyhock pods from the Hollyhocks you see to the right of the fabric shop,,, umm, & if I recall, Dairyprincess & kpaints were there to wittness it....
If you are ever up in the Spokane area, the BB is a must see....they have awesome fabrics and kits and they also offer a wonderful aray of classes.
Well know that you know my dirty little secrete, that I am a 'Seed Rustler' ya better watch your plants when I come to visit! lol!

Posted - Dec 08 2011 : 08:35:14 AM Oh CJ,,, that is soooo sweet....hugz
I first got the idea for seed rustleing many many many years ago after reading an garden mag.article about "Rose Rustlers",,, a group that goes to old abandoned farms & take cuttings of old heritage roses, many of which were nearly a century old. Back when families, lived 2-3 generations on the same family farm, unlike today where society has become very migratory.
I have been known (much to the chigrin of DH) to take Geranium cuttings (I asked first) when hubby & I took our evening walks up the hill to our favorite Ice Cream establishment(back in SO.CAL.)... I double scored.... geranium cuttings & 2scoops of RockyRoad ice cream! Color me Happy!

Posted - Dec 08 2011 : 07:00:16 AM Well, I didn't really STEAL them but many years ago I did dig up some of my mom's Red Hot Pokers and plant them in one of my flower gardens and they are just gorgeous every summer. Since my mom is in heaven they are a wonderful reminder of her and her flowers. CJ
