Okay ladies!!

I need a vaction something fierce...but that's not going to happen right now....so please join me on a virtual vacation!!

Right now I imagine myself curled up in comphy jammies infront of a roaring fireplace with hot cocoa in hand and in a beautiful Ski Lodge. Tomorrow I am going to strap on my skis and hit the slopes and have the time of my life! It's going to be the perfect temperature...and since this is all happening in my imagination- I am a size five too! LOL Gotta love the fantasy vacations!! Maybe after I tire of fun in the snow I might take a virtual vacation to the Bahamas!!

Well Ladies! It was a great day on my virtual slopes! My legs feel like rubber but in a great way. Had an awesome dinner at the lodge and now it is time to read a good book and go to bed while watching the embers softly glow and the snow fall out side the window.

Alee, my parents actually went to the Bahamas this past spring (their first big vacation away from the family, ever). I think way down in his heart Dad's never really come home! Every once in a while he gets this far away look in his eyes and says "In the Bahamas it's 75 degrees and sunny today."

I want to be up north in a cabin, snowed in, with a big mug of hot chocolate and the fireplace going. No phone, no tv.....sunk into a good book under a cozy blanket. Ah! Relaxation!

I would love love love to take a trip to the English seaside. I can picture myself on the coast with the smell of the salty sea air and the waves crashing against the cliffs while I crochet a lovely granny square afghan.

Oh Alee that sounds like fun.

My perfect vacation would be to kayak the San Juan Islands out in the ocean from Seattle. I have a site bookmarked that I can view the tours they offer - 3 to 5 days. The pictures give me hope that someday it will happen.

With weather like we had last week I could even see myself kayaking in Hawaii.

Thanks for the mindless wandering. It helps with work this time of year.

Today I am off to hit the Ski slopes! I have my ski gear on and my lift ticket on my zipper. The night brought and extra layer of great powder and the sun is just rising above the horizon in a beautiful display of pinks, oranges and golds. The air smells cold and clean with the spicy tang of pine. I can smell the ever present smell of wood smoke like a warm hug in the morning air.

As I ride the lift for the first run of the day I see a bull moose slowly making his way though the woods below the lift. He's a beautiful brute of an animal, we large muscles rippling under his fur.

Wow Diane!! What a great vacation! Will you go and have a meal in a pub in Dublin for me or even go kiss the Blarney Stone for a life of good luck?!

Diane that sounds great! I know I felt a tie, a connection when I looked at the Rhein River. I was wearing my great grandmother's wedding band and I whispered, "you're home".

I want to play!
I am hiking in Ireland. I am wearing a big cable knit wool sweater. There are 40 shades of green and the air smells damp and grassy. I just wander here and there taking it all in with my eyes and my nose. As I wander, I think of my ancestors and their strong ties and love for this beautiful island.

Don't go with the flow...you are the flow.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Sounds like a great vacation spot,Kim! The sound of the snow flakes gently shush-shushing outside- the big kinds that can cling to your eye lashes and where you can see their delicate shapes for an instant before they melt. :)

OOOOH I wanna play this game too. Think mountains with snow gently falling and deer outside the cozy cabin. Roaring fire and hot chocolate and popcorn. Snuggled up on the couch with a good book and absolute silence..... until the kids come in the room then we're on the floor playing War (just taught this card game to my five year old) and laughing hysterically. Yup, I like it. Next I'm going to Leavensworth, Oh wait I might actually get to go there!!!!!
