I've been looking for a job. I work outside crossing kids at our local school. The break in my day is exhausting! Not to mention being out there in hurricane force winds.

I interviewed yesterday and got the job at...... Hobby Lobby! My husband is in shock I think! He said me working at HL is like him working at Culvers - you can't control yourself!

I'm nervous and excited to start. I will not spend my entire check at HL, I will not spend my entire check at HL, I will not.....

Sorry it didn't work out. I almost took a job there a few years ago, but was afraid of the same things.

Well, the fun stops now. I'm quitting. It was far too much for me & my family. Working such long hours and on Saturday's took me away from home too long. i had to scramble to find someone to sit with my girls last weekend. I'm not ready to leave them home 8+ hours a day. I will miss the extra income, but my teenager is encouraging me to FINALLY set up our Etsy shop. Perhaps we can make a little something there.

I did pick up some Thanksgiving things and a bunch of fun ornaments.

Congratulations on your job! It sounds great. I've heard it was a good place to work too. I was just reading another thread about how nice it is that Jo Ann and Hobby Lobby will be closed on Thanksgiving - and Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays.

And I'm very impressed you went two weeks w/o shopping. Wow! Have fun with those discounts!

I'd say 2 weeks of good behavior deserves a shopping day! :) Hope you found lots of great stuff.....especially at that price!

I....love.....Hobby Lobby! A good Christian based store with tons of sales every week (many 50% off)and 40% off coupons! Does it get any better? Good luck not spending your paycheck every week.....I know I would!

That is great. It would be like me getting a job at Joann Fabrics. I have almost picked up an application several times. I would spend more than I made for sure.

Have fun.

Congratulations! I used to take One Stroke Painting classes at HL, the employees would always stop in the class room to see what we were working on. They always looked like they enjoyed their jobs, hope you do too.

Good boy Hobbs! I love and miss you.

Hooray on the job! I used to work at a craft store many years ago. The best job I ever had! It was so neat to be one of the first to see new product when it came in; and it was a challenge not to spend my whole check on it all. But I learned different crafts and never ran out of ideas. I miss it. Your gonna love it!!!

Congratulations! My friend, Corinne, is the head of the framing department at our Hobby Lobby (she calls it "the Hob Lob" :) She says the company is very nice to work for, and they even transferred her job from where she lived previously, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to Florence when she divorced. Corinne has 2 masters degrees in Art and Art Education, and taught art in public school until the board got rid of the program, so if she's happy at Hobby Lobby, I'd say it's a good place!

Holy Moly Deb, what a dream job! Like CJ my closest one is 70 miles away, but I take advantage of one everytime I am close to it. Sue, plan on spending alot of time there. Hobby Lobby also sells online now and even accepts the 40% off coupon. I have ordered from them a few times when I needed things to finish a project and have been happy with it. The shipping was less than I could drive to town for, which is what I always check out. Not to mention the time saved. Enjoy your new job Deb!

Congratulations Deb!!! I love Hobby Lobby, but alas, the nearest one is 75 miles away. I would LOVE a job in a creative place!!! I have to make my own . . which I did!
Go for it!

You just landed the dream job of the century for most of us farm girls!!! Lucky lady! Please keep us posted and if things go as planned, you may need us to form a 12-step program to wean you off HL's bargains. The temptations may be just too hard to resist. Have fun and congratulations on you new job.
