In one of my classes, my students were studying synonyms. The word was hungry and the synonym was PECKISH. I love it, what a great farmgirl word. Now instead of saying I am hungry I will say I am peckish.

Oh that is a good one! You reminded me that my mom used to say that alot. She was also known for using the terms dirth (lack) and plethora (plenty).

Cathy, I've heard about these things called "calories"... apparently they're like mischievous fairies that get into your closets and sew your clothes just a teensy bit tighter every night!! ^_^

Laurie, I agree I think I am peckish most of the time. As a matter of fact I had to try on about ten things this morning because my pecking is making my clothes too, tight.
Sharon, I think "Winter bear tired" is very descriptive of how I feel much of the time. I think I'll try using that, too.

Love the Peckish word! My problem is that I am ALWAYS Peckish and now instead of being a "Bantam" I am more like an oven stuffer roaster....LOL (Couldnt resist!)

Off Topic: Star Trek <3

Hubby and I have been going through Voyager together. I watched it a ton when it came out and I'm even more impressed with it now while I'm older and have a greater perspective. Everything The Voyager crew does on a weekly basis is monumental enough for commendations and there's a lot of "just below the surface" storylines going on that you have to watch the characters closely to get.
I'll always have a soft spot for Michael Dorn as Worf though!
