Posted - Oct 15 2011 : 08:41:18 AM Lorena, I like the yahtzee dice comment ! we have suggested he go down to part time and go two more semesters, it would be easier to finance, he will have to look for a personal loan to finish I guess. I should have been paying more attention, didn't realize there was a limit or that he was getting close to hitting it. his four years of school have turned into 5 1/2 because of his Crohns diagnosis plus he wants to go on for his masters |

Posted - Oct 14 2011 : 5:42:50 PM Take Care. Get some rest. Maybe your oldest can enroll in work study to help with tuition? We all get feeling down and that there is no way out. Is there anyway your oldest could get a small personal loan (from a bank) to cover the rest of the semester? It's just a thought. What is he/she majoring in? Could the studies be done through a community college or on line as opposed to a 4 year college? Just some food for thought. I hope your days get better. Sometimes, I feel like I'm a handful of Yatzee dice all shook up. Just focus on the little things and the rest will fall into place. Don't worry about tomarrow. You have to get through today first. Posted - Oct 14 2011 : 4:51:14 PM I feel so much love from you guys, thanks. I am better I can usually handle just about everything but being physically tired too I just had a melt down. we are brainstorming some ideas for my son, I will not let him not graduate from college. I spent some time outside with the cool fall air and beautiful colors. and I would love to go for that horseback ride !! |

Posted - Oct 14 2011 : 09:26:52 AM I also know what it is like to be down. For me, riding my horse usually helps. Too bad I can't take you for a ride!
I also will repeat praise songs or Bible verses in my head. Crying on God's shoulder also helps.
Take care of yourself. I will say a prayer for you.

More hugs!

Posted - Oct 13 2011 : 9:47:35 PM Are you sure you weren't channeling me? That is EXACTLY how I have been feeling lately. Very tired- very run down with an all too large helping of stress (Not on the side). I must admit that a good couple nights sleep aided by the supplement Melatonin did me a world of good. I am getting a little more run down lately with some long nights and I am starting to feel my dark cloud coming back.
I hope you start feeling better soon. Perhaps your son will find some scholarships or something that will help him through his last semester. *hugs*

Posted - Oct 13 2011 : 6:42:43 PM Patricia - I am so sorry. Have your son go to the financial aid office and tell them his situation. Colleges want their students to graduate -- a high graduation percentage is good advertising. If it's his last semester, they are very likely to work with him to find enough to get him through. The financial aid offices have quite a bit of flexibility. He just has to be polite but persistent. Sending thoughts and prayers your way. |

Posted - Oct 13 2011 : 6:06:00 PM Hang in there Patricia- as your other sisters have said- this too shall pass. We all have days where life just seems to overwhelm us. It will all be okay. Just try and keep the "important" things in perspective and not worry so much about the little things and those that you can not change. One thing that you do have the power to change is your attitude. Smile- its contagious and you might just catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror :). Hugs to you,

Posted - Oct 13 2011 : 4:57:54 PM Oh Patricia, I always call these days "blue funk days" and the best news is that they don't last. My DD was in tears today for the same reasons. Some days it is all too much. Have some tea and hang in there. Sending hugs, Joey
