Posted - Aug 25 2011 : 8:50:08 PM This week has been a week filled with chaos and stress. But, as I was rushing around grumbling as I went, I realized that I was missing the blessing God had for me . . . so I stepped back and took a true look at my life and realized how blessed I really am. I explained my week on my blog and I hope it challenges each of you to live in the moment and not in your circumstances. Check out my blog at http://pastblessings.blogspot.com.

Posted - Aug 30 2011 : 12:19:52 PM Thought I would share something that was in one of our agents paper some time ago. I keep and copy in a folder on my desk and get out out once in awhile to read or make a copy to share with someone that comes into my office that might need a lift.
How Will You Live Today
I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
Today I can complain because the weather is rainy or I can be thankful that the garden is getting watered for free.
Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide be away from waste.
Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive.
Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.
Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses.
Today I can morn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships.
Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to go to.
Today I can complain because I have to go to school or eagerly open my mind and fill it with knowledge and adventure.
Today I can dejectedly murmur because I have housework to do or I can feel grateful for shelter for my mind, body and soul.
Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped, and her I am, the sculptor who get to do the shaping. What today will be like is up to me, and I shall decide what kind of day I shall have.
Gratitude is a great attitude.
Have a good one! Kathy |

Posted - Aug 29 2011 : 8:15:53 PM I was just thinking about this last night. I am constantly thinking ahead to when things might be better than they are now. Or when I might have my "me" time back again. And I just need to live right here, right now, and not look so forward to "later" because it will come sooner than I think. Anyway, thanks for posting this. I will try to live right here in this moment.

Posted - Aug 29 2011 : 8:01:23 PM Loved your blog- and love the name of your little farm! I am currently in the process of coming up with a name for my "house/farm" (even though my kids and hubby think I am crazy for wanting to name our little 3/4 acre)! I agree with you- that you really just need to live in the present and take one day at a time... I always say "Attitiude is EVERYTHING...SMILE! Smiles,

Posted - Aug 25 2011 : 9:58:50 PM Brenda, that was a wonderful post. My planner is one of my best friends. I'm also honest with myself. I know I only have so many hours in a day and when I write down my list of wants and needs it can't always get done. Counting your blessings really helps.
