Made some rosemary hair rinse yesterday afternoon as I have been over-run with rosemary in one of my raised beds and I LOVE it! Did you know it naturally covers gray?
Anyone else use rosemary hair rinse?
Oh...and I also use my hand made rosemary mint soap to wash my hair. It sure is a fantastic alternative to using over the counter harsh shampoos-

Here is my recipe...This is for dark hair-
1 TBSP of dried Lavender buds and dried Rosemary
2 cups distilled water
1 TBSP apple cider vinegar (Restores the pH balance) The vinegar smell is mild and will go away once your hair is dry.
Place herbs and water in a sauce pan, bring to a boil. Turn off heat, cover and let steep (the longer you steep the stronger the brew). Strain out herbs. Let cool. Keep refrigerated.
I double this recipe-
After washing my hair with my rosemary/mint shampoo bar I rinse with my rosemary rinse and then comb through.

Here is another recipe that is very similar to the one I use...
Rosemary and Lavender Softening Hair Rinse
4 c. water
1/2 c. dried rosemary
1/2 c. dried lavender
1 tsp. borax (if desired)
3 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
Bring the water to boil in a large pot. Once you’ve reached a rolling boil, remove the pot from the stove and add the borax and apple cider vinegar. Stir. Add the lavender and rosemary. Stir well (until all the herbs are wet) and cover. Leave the pot to “steep” unheated for 2-4 hours (or longer, even … the longer, the stronger).
After your liquid has reached a caramel brownish color, strain the herbs from the liquid and pour into a glass container. Refrigerate until use.
To use: After shampooing and conditioning, or as your sole hair product, pour the rinse over your hair, making sure to soak it through completely. Finish off with a final rinse of clean water, if desired (the liquid is a brownish “tea” color, so it may stain a light-colored towel if you don’t rinse with clean water). Or, simply leave the rosemary rinse in your hair and dry and style as usual.

I too am so interested in this rinse as I have a pretty wild silver streak :) really would love the recipe. Do you make your own shampoo too?

I have used my own simple rosemary hair rinse before..and loved it. Its been awhile though..heck I have alot of rosemary right now..I better get ON that!!

I too would love the recipe. I made a hair rinse with sage (first time to make it). I do have rosemary in my herb garden. Would you care to share?
