Posted - Aug 10 2011 : 12:24:16 PM I just took in a few old broken chains & a gold ring setting. The amount easily fit in the palm of my hand. They were broken bracelets from old boyfriends in the 80's mostly. Got a check for $915!!! I will be digging around for more remnants. I MAY just get that Vita Mix. Trying to be responsible though |

Posted - Aug 17 2011 : 1:24:21 PM Thanks for lighting the fire. Did a quick look through my jewelry box. Took in a couple of rings/broken chains, some broken sterling pieces and 3 silver coins. Made $850. Who knew. I can put that money to better use than having those chains in my box - lol.

Posted - Aug 10 2011 : 7:03:05 PM I was in a bit of a hurry this morning, when I knew that I would be near the place that paid cash, and was locally reputable. I believe I have a few more items, and you better belive, my jewelry boxes will be emptied this weekend, and I may make another trip. Already plan on donating to our church campership fund, and I still have my eye on that VitaMix! Have to do the math, but this is a great time to sell! Marly, the place I went to is a local business that has several locations; I felt somewhat more safe that way; I cannot see sending my gold in the mail to who knows where. I am sure there may be some places where I could have profitted more, but this was easy, painless, and if this establishment was not fair, they would not still be in business. I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least! A handful(barely) of broken bracelets, & nearly $1000 to show for it!

Posted - Aug 10 2011 : 6:45:49 PM I sold mine also. It was enough to buy our farm truck. I tell DH all the time how that truck is made out of gold. Definitely make sure you take it to some place in person.

Posted - Aug 10 2011 : 1:11:22 PM I know, & the commercial looks kind of, well, way different than the interior of this place. You had to be beeped in, classical music playing, nice artwork on the wall, & a policeman on duty. |

Posted - Aug 10 2011 : 1:04:58 PM Yes Jonni I had a sterling piece in the mix, & it was weighed & valued as well. If you do go, use JS, they are very professional, no pawn shop feel whatsoever. |

Posted - Aug 10 2011 : 12:58:07 PM Whaaaaaat?!?! Man, I better go do some rounding up!
I have been selling my old textbooks and some other books I no longer read on Amazon and have made enough to support my yarn habit this months while I'm not working. My last disbursement was $282. Not too shabby!
