My husband and I need to replace our mattress, ours is beyond. In doing so, we'd like to go GREEN for our health and that of the planet.

What are the best/favorite green mattresses? Do you have one? Do you like it?

This is an important and expensive purchase, not one we want to do on impulse.

what a great question. in the us all mattresses are treated with a flame retardenet. usually you need a dr. prescription to get one with out. usually doctors are ok with this. there is a chemical soup in your bed. lifekind is a good company. let us know what you buy. we have an organic cotton mattress. happy days sherrye

LifeKind has green and organic mattresses and bedding supplies. I'd love to get one of their mattress sets but it's got to wait.

Great question, as we also have a mattress that needs to be replaced. :)

I don't have one but I can recommend a place to start looking. There's a woman named Beth Greer who has a book and a podcast. Supernatural Life, I believe. Pretty sure she has a website too. I remember she had a podcast episode that talked about organic mattresses. I'm also happy to see some stores carrying organic cotton sheets now.
