I'm making my first batch of goats milk soap next week and I am so excited! Are their any other soap makers out there that might have some tips for me before I make my first batch?
Hugs,
Hannah

If you freeze the milk first and do the blendin carefully you will get a nice white soap.

If you aren't concerned with the color, you don't have to freeze it. You will get a brown colored soap.

Both smell and work the same, just different colors.

I didn't freeze mine. The brown soap has been fine for my family. My 2y/o loves that what she calls 'mommy soap' is brown like the dirt. LOL!

Also, I've heard to have a good camera to take pictures of your results and share with your farmgirls! ;)

I am SO excited for you! I'm going to go to a class at my extension office on how to make cold process soap. I'm hoping to make some of my own in the future!

Congratulations! Some tips I can give are to wear protective clothing..long sleeve shirt, gloves. That lye is a tricky little beast. Vinegar will neutralize lye, so have a little handy if you get it on you. I haven't made goat's milk soap but I have heard it's easier to work with if you freeze it in ice cube trays.
