Today I was hurrying to get to a lunch date with a friend. I don't often go out and I had got all dolled up and was in high heels, make up and everything. I had bout 10-15 minutes to spare (I like to be early) and was cruisin down the interstate when I saw this adorable VW bug along side the road with a nice lady standing outside the car looking into traffic. She looked somewhat distressed but I wasn't able to stop. It bothered me that I couldn't stop right away due to traffic and at first I thought "Everyone has cell phones these days... I am sure she is fine" Then I kept worrying about her and worrying about her. So I took the exit and instead of heading to lunch, I turned onto the frontage road and headed right back the way I came. I used to own a Bug and did all my own mechanical work. So I figured if it was something easy I might be able to get her car running and I had a little gas in my gas can so if it was out of gas I could give her that too. So I got back to her and she said she had called her father in law who is 90 and he was on his way. She said she was just out of gas. I got my gas can out and crawled under a barb wire fence to get her the gas can. We got her car started but she couldn't get a hold of her father in law. After a few minute he arrived and walked across 4 lanes of traffic to bring her gasoline. He sure was a sweet guy!

Anyway I declined payment for the gas I gave her but she insisted on giving me $5 for my trouble. Only after I was driving away did I realize that is exactly how much I need to buy a wagon from craigslist for Nora!!

I ended up only being about 10 minutes late for lunch and I felt so good for helping out someone. Just as we got her all filled up another kind gentleman stopped with a gas can just in case she needed it. I am so glad to live in Montana where people still stop to help others! :)

Alee work is work. I am looking forward to moving in the next two years to a much greener part of the State. Just let me know when you have time and we can do lunch maybe on a Sunday since you have it off.

Alee I find good Samaritans all over Billings as well. I am always trying to pay it forward myself. I have seen many good deeds around town and I have even participated in few of those deeds myself.

It's nice to know someone as sweet and helpful as you Alee.
