We are driving up tonight and coming back tomorrow night. Quick trip but it should be good to see the family!

Posted - Jun 20 2011 : 07:41:53 AM Sounds like everyone had a nice day on tap. We didn't do much--I made french toast and bacon for breakfast, then made up the meatloaf that Jus requested for dinner. We tossed around the idea of a drive, but he got engrossed in the WWII book Violet and I got him for Father's Day, and ended up falling asleep in the study.
I did some laundry and made an apple pie, then started on dinner (in addition to meatloaf, there were creamed peas and greek style fingerling potatoes, satueed with lemon, olive oil, garlic and fresh oregano. He was very happy :)
Normally, I'd go over to the racetrack to celebrate my own Daddy, a horseman, who's been gone now for 18 years, but it was pouring down rain and it just felt better to stay inside. He knows I think of him!

Posted - Jun 20 2011 : 05:41:00 AM I hope everyone had a good father's day! We just had a nice day with the family and had a low-key dinner at home. Lots of good conversation and time together. Doug stayed in Montana and had the house all to himself. so everyone got some of what they wanted! :)

Posted - Jun 19 2011 : 10:20:28 AM My Father has not been with us for many years but I have great memories of shared times, laughs and tender moments. My son is still out of town so he will have to celebrate once he is back but his schedule is very full so who knows. His son Reese is one lucky boy to have such a loving and kind father. So I hope everyone enjoys the day - Debbie your day is sounding like mine - I must get some work done outside but plan to relax if not for more then an hour or so - I think I have earned it this week.
Celebrate and Enjoy!

Posted - Jun 18 2011 : 10:10:47 PM Outlook for Fathers Day is not good in these parts. Today while I was outside watering the garden the 8 year old let the baby get into and yank the CD tray off track on daddy's Xbox.
Here's praying he gets it fixed tonight or he's going to be pretty cranky with the kids tomorrow.

Posted - Jun 18 2011 : 7:53:25 PM Not too much. I have some orange rolls rising. They are DH's favorits so I thought I would make him a nice breakfast. Other than that I have a HUGE chem test on Monday so I think he and Rosemary can spend the day together so I can study. ;)
