I'm a Texas Sister on the Fly. A lot of the Sisters also stay in cabins. Most of the campgrounds we visit have cabins too. I'm in the process of starting a MJF Texas Chapter and was hoping to get several other MJF Texas chapters together for camping, canton trips and holiday get-together's. I just started a Facebook Group so we can communicate easier and plan some outings. If anyone is interested, send me a email.

Thanks~Tammy

Thanks Grace! I do get to tent camp some because we are civil war reenactors. So I guess you can say we are historical campers! Every item that is outside our tent where others can see it has to be period-correct. This requires a lot of research and searching to get correct looking items (we don't use authentic items because it would destroy them). When we are camping with other reenactors it is a really cool look! So I guess I have a theme for tent camping, it's the 1860's!
I look forward to what my trailer theme will be when we get one.
I'll look into the Sisters on the Fly!

Hey Caron & Mary,,,,
I am a member of Sisters on the Fly, a Nation wide group of women who love to Glamp, shop, fish, ride,,,,and just hang with the gals.... if only for a weekend...leave the dirty dishes in the sink, stock the freezer w/froze food for the hubby & kiddos...and just go play for a weekend.
(Maryjanes Farm-magazine did an article on SOTF a year ago, and there is a small article on SOTF in this past issue of Oprah mag.)
There is a very large group of SOTF in TX, in fact Texas has probably the largest number of members, followed by Calif..... check them out on the internet:
sistersonthefly.com
Not everyone has vintage trailers, some have new ones, some have fiberglass ( my 1st one was a SCAMP 13') and some gals luv to Tent. They decorate their tents every bit as cute as the trailers sisters.
As for decorating your trailers w/o sending the hubbys into cardiac arrest... use "removable" deco items,,,slip covers for the cushions, extra deco pillows, cute wall hangings that can be taken down, etc...
I use those big plastic storage bins (k-mart/walmart etc) and store my trailer stuff in them that way I just dig through & pull out what ever I feel like useing..I have 3 bins for each trailer so they stack & store easily too!
Now go have fun Glamping....even if it is for only an afternoon in your back yard! :>)
Happy Trails!

Mary, this is what I am doing too, just decorating and planning in my mind. Someday it will be for real!

Ah Girls...LOVED THE TRAILERS and the glamping... Are you all up in the great Northwest, or are there any Glampers in or around Texas?

Of course, I don't have a Glamper YET.. but might be on my wish list. We have a little 16 foot Casita called "Good Times" -- but can't paint it. DH likes streamline and NOT frilly. So you can see why I would need my own Glamper. In the meantime, I can decorate it in my mind and dream of days around the campfire playing trailer trash bingo. GO SISTERS !!!!

It looks like you all had a wonderful time! Someday I'm gonna have my own little trailer. I can't wait to fix her all up! My 6'4 husband can't see it, but I can....
