Since it is summer I am trying to get everything done that I don't have time to do during the school year. All my "farmgirlish" books have been scattered all over the place, so today I decided to make a special place for all of them. They took up two shelves in the bookcase, but now I know where they all are if I should need to read one again.

My mom brings home plastic milk crates from her work (can't believe they just throw them away!) and so my bookshelves are made of those milkcrates. I've got them organized in the craft/computer room closet and now in the room itself. I like the milkcrates as it they are alot easier to move around when I have the itch to redecorate and I can keep my books together more easily.

Wow, Cathy I see a lot of the books on your shelf that I have, but my books are everywhere in this house. I will have to find me a bookshelf and get organized like you then when I need a book I will know exactly where they are. Thanks so much for sharing.

Margo, I am a piler, too. That is why it takes me a large part of the summer sorting through it all. I was also thinking it won't be long until I need another one. I just loooove books. Tanya, I like your saying "Raggedy Ann stuck in a Barbie Doll World". While I was working in the garden the other day I was thinking about it and I think that describes me pretty well.
Thanks to all for the comments. Cathy

My Hubby actually brought me home a small 2 shelf bookshelf for mine. He was so proud of how it was made of very heavy wood and was free. I had to use it for my farmgirl books. I just didn't have the heart to tell him it was way too small!

I have both shelves filled and huge stacks on top of it. He commented the other day that he was gonna have to hunt me a bigger one up and give the little one to the girls for their room!

Yea!!

That is an excellent idea! I have a shelf kindof like that as well! All my sewing and gardening books plus my MJF magazines go there!

i love it! Last fall my neighbors put out a bookshelf with a free sign hanging on it. I sent the kids over to haul it home and painted it with some paint in the garage. It fit perfect in a corner of the bedroom and became my farmgirl/self sufficient/eco shelf of info. I love having it all in one place!
