HEY FRANNIE,
Sounds like you had a great time, I just want to know who took care of CABIN AND CREEK while you were gone? What does your grandson think of your cabin and the dogs? I don't suspose the skate boarding works all that good there. HA

Wednesday, July 26 ... i'm home sweet home from ohio ... (been on the computer for almost TWO hours this morning .. just trying to get back 'on-line' .. FINALLY after starband walking me through deleting, adding, finding, purging, installing, un-installing, re-installing .. and doin' jus' about everything except standing upside down on my head and whistling dixie while eating a mouth full of crackers .. i'm back in cyberspace! i swear .. it seems that everytime i go to ohio and access my e-mail from another computer .. this one goes down!!! WELL .. 'nuff complainin' .. i'm jus' happy to be able to get back in touch with all my gurlfrenz!!! oh what a fun time i had in ohio with those grandsons!

met twelve year old James at the airport in Louisville ..

isn't he a cutie pie .. i hadn't seen him for two years
.. and there is SUCH a 'big boy' growing spurt between
ten and twelve! he is not only CUTE .. he is a SWEETHEART!!!
very loving and affectionate .. happy-go-lucky .. smiling and very outgoing ..

i don't think the boy knows a 'stranger' .. he strikes up a conversation with everyone he meets! a good teenager and .. loves his 'music' and skateboarding ... (girl-crazy too!)

we drove to Sidney, OHIO where we met Frank, Wednesday and (almost) five-year old Lucas .. spent the night at a hotel where the boys met each other for the first time in their lives!

the two cousins giving their 'first hug' ... EVER! it was so wonderful watching them become buddies all week.

then a 'high five'!!

that 'baby' gets bigger each day too! everyone tells
daughter, wednesday, it is another BOY .. cuz' she is carrying LOW, like a BASKETBALL .. and from the back you can't tell she is
pregnant!

our week was a whirlwind! we went to the TOY STORE about ten times!!!!! ... went to the zoo .. (toledo has a very nice zoo!) ... we visited a fun waterpark only about 2 miles from their home .. it is filled with the neatest 'structures' ..
it's a community pool (the biggest i've ever seen).

went to COSI .. which is a wonderful SCIENCE
MUSEUM in toledo ... spent hours and hours there
... don't think i've ever seen a nicer place for kids to PLAY
and LEARN at the same time!

james teaches lucas to 'skate'

there were three neighbor kids visiting from danville, kentucky while we were there! lucas always looks forward to their visit to their grandparents! we all had such fun with them ... had an 'ice cream sundae' party one evening ..

a watermelon party another evening ...

looks like that watermelon was spiked with kentucky bourbon!!

played at the park another evening (went to the park which is ONE BLOCK from Lucas' house .. it is his school playground
.. which has the best equipment i've ever seen'
on a school playground!)

.. and we all had a 'silly string'battle in the big circle .. and the kids all had grande fun sliding on the 'slippy-slide' in lucas' front yard ... they skate-boarded, and rode their scooters .. there is a nice dead-end circle right in front of Wednesday and Frank's home.

(oh .. and while there .. i planted a ba-jillion flowers in her garden for her .. she hasn't been able to bend over to do much gardening .. and i had such fun .. planted LOTS of perennials in her gardens .. shoot! didn't take a photo! i'll have wednesday take a picture and send it to me for forwarding!

we played GOLF .. this is lucas when he
honest to goodness made a HOLE IN ONE!

visited a skate park at cedar point ..
spent the night in Sandusky so we could be up bright and early the next day for a political 'fair' that frank had to attend and to get to the park early .. stayed until closing at about midnight! and oh my gosh! the highlight for James was our visit to Cedar Point Park in Sandusky .. it has the LONGEST, HIGHEST, SCARIEST, AND MOST ... ROLLER COASTERS IN THE WORLD!!!!

i spent most of my time with lucas in the kiddie areas of the park.
frank and james .. hit just about every roller coaster in the park!

what a wonderful week .. and i'm sure i left out lots of other fun things we did non-stop!!!

james and i drove back to kentucky on sunday (stopping at a huge flea-market and a couple antiques shoppes in ohio .. where i got some more treasures!) got home at dusk .. where we headed straight for the drive-in movie (after driving and shopping all day!) ... double feature .. (i slept through the second movie!)

hank returned from a 3 day back-packing trip on monday and today is a 'hang-out' at the farm day .. and early tomorrow morning .. we're heading for mammouth caves (james has NEVER been in a cave or cavern!) .. and camping and canoeing at either Nolin Lake or Rough River Lake! He heads back to Delaware (home) on Saturday with lots of tales to tell of his adventures!

well, chilluns .. guess i've played 'catch-up' .. and now i am heading back downstairs to take a walk in the forest with hank and james!

have a couple meetings to attend this evening .. will be GREAT seeing the gulrfrenz again!

remember .. you are ALL invited to our pot-luck 'gurlfenz gathering' picnic here at cabin creek farm on Sunday, August 13th ... 2:00 p.m. (central) .. if you need more info on it .. jus' let me know!

as always .. it's grande to roam .. but grande to be back home sweet home too!

wanna' hear what you gurlz have been up to the last couple weeks!

xoxo, frannie

hey darlins .. here i 'yam' ... this has been such a fun and busy summer! starting off with a week in disneyworld with our little grandson, lucas and his mom and dad ... i did manage to get PNEUMONIA while there and had to be rushed to the ER the moment the plane hit the ground back in toledo .. now THAT was not one ounce of fun! but i'm all better .. and honey hunk and i headed for New Harmony, Indiana (be still my heart .. what a BEAUTIFUL little town!!) to celebrate our THIRTIETH wedding anniversary .. had a mos' wunnerful time! been doin' lots of diggin' in the garden and yep .. running the backroads of kentucky! AND .. i do indeed head for the airport in Louisville tomorrow morning to pick up our 12-year old grandson, James .. and we'll drive directly to Toledo, OH for a week and James and our almost-5 year old Lucas, (COUSINS) will meet each other for the FIRST TIME in their lives! i do not know who is the most excited .. the boys or ME! James is quite an accomplished 'skate-boarder' i hear tell .. and Lucas can't wait t'il he gets there to help him pick out a little skate board for him!

Wednesday said they spoke on the phone last night .. and Lucas roamed from room to room chattering incessantly (i get a 'hi grammie .. love you .. here's mommy!") she said they were on the pohne for 45 minutes t'il she interceded! Wednesday told me that she watched as lucas roamed from room to room .. perching on a chair here .. and bench there .. and at one point he laid down on the sofa .. and got so lost in conversation he rolled off the sofa onto the floor .. and never skipped a beat! she said she laughed so hard she cried!

we have such BOY fun planned .. of course, we are taking them to Cedar Point in Ohio for a ride on the largest roller coaster in the United States .. and to the big water park there .. we're going to take a boat ride to Put-In Bay Island for the next weekend. Lucas' dad has a big political fair/rally on the island that will be fun! We'll do a lot of bike riding and take James to a skate-board park. Of course, there is the ZOO and the Children's Science Museum in Toledo .. oh so many fun things .. visiting of relatives .. swimming .. also got some fun wooden car and truck kits for the boys to build. GOSH .. i had two girls .. so all this boy stuff is new to me! I better get used to it cuz' we think Wednesday is having another boy .. and our granddaughter is having a baby BOY!!! Dear Goodness .. whatever will i do with all these prissy tea sets and american girls dolls that i've collected over the years!!!

I am sooooo excited about our September Gurlfren Gathering .. have about 20 of us attending! That's about as big as i like gatherings .. cuz' i really love them when all the 'sisters' stay together ... i've been to them where the girls go their separate ways during the day for shopping and such (too clique-ie for me though!) and only get together for meals and some gather at night time. Oh honies .. when i'm the momma of these gatherings .. we are all together for our fun and festivities! Makes for warmer memories i do believe and NO ONE ever gets left out. I'm reeeeeeeeeel big on making absolutely everyone feel special and included .. and ya' jus' can't do that when the gatherings get to be too large, i think. (they do have their place and can be fun .. but i jus' prefer us all hanging together and getting to know one another).

well, chilluns .. thanks for missin' me and my ramblings .. oh and don't forget .. you can sign up for my KENTUCKY RAMBLINGS e-mail list and you'll hear of my adventures all the time .. and get lotsa' fun pictures of where i've been, who i've met (along with stories) .. and see pics of the 'treasures' i find along the way. and occasional fun games and prizes. just e-mail me with your first and last name and your E-MAIL ADDRESS in the BODY of your e-mail to me.

gotta' go pack for that trip to OHIO ... will be checkin' in week after next .. but probably not much though .. cuz' i'm bringing james back to kentucky for the last week in July and honey hunk and i are going to take him camping and boating and have lots of fun kentucky adventures.

hugs, frannie

p.s. i don't really do my BLOG any more .. takes toooooooo long to down-load pictures. soooo .. be sure to sign up for Kentucky Ramblings and/or Treasure Seekers list. xo

She has been busy. She sent out an e-mail yesterday about how busy she is. About the only thing she is doing on the computer right now has to do with the September Gathering, I think. She is getting ready to go on a trip to Ohio, but I think that she will be back the first of August. I know I sure miss her posts.
