Well, what a WONDERFUL, much TOO short, visit I had with Ruth from Georgia, this morning. She and her family are traveling in MY neck of the woods and when I found out she would be driving right through Cortez, Colorado (I live 5 miles out of town) I told her we just HAD to meet.
I met her at a local nursery/greenhouse/coffeehouse and we sat out in the nursery "yard" at a patio table and visited over a mocha. I met her hubby, Dave; her son, Brian and his wife Leslie.
It was a short visit but LOVELY . . and she had to leave for the rest of the family's planned activities for the day.

THANK YOU RUTH . . . Sweet Farmgirl From Georgia.
A WONDERFUL visit!
CJ

Ruth is on the right and she was able to meet my little friend, Bramble, too.

I was able to hand deliver Ruth's FOTL t-shirt to her, too!

Ruth is the Grammy my son deserves, since his own has passed. She is special to us also.

...for those who have met Ruth.... I agree!!!! Like we all have known each other for a long time, and these mini visits are just reunions, recapping what has been going on lately. Ruth is a gem... along with others that I had the privilege of meeting.

Thanks CJ! When I saw you, I forgot to tell you how much I love the apron! It is so "me"! I love the colors, fabric and style - and I collect sheep :) - precious

Love, love love the ponies - I still can't get over how cute they are - so much better than "store bought" you are so smart and talented and a lovely lady to boot.
There will be more real hugs given, don't know when or where - maybe when you come our way, Charlotte is not that far away :)! Or you could just come to our home - you are always welcome!
Well, I need to get busy, Dave has gone to the doctor and it's a good time to do some serious cleaning :)! So hard with a full time husband that loves to run roads (I enjoy going to, but there are things that need to be done).
love to you,
Ruth

RUTH!!!
Glad to hear from you and that you're home safe and sound. Also glad to hear all the trip went well, the promotion for Brian was great . . and that you got to meet up with Robin and Nigel.

I sent her an email through the connection and posted here . . . so, I was really hoping you two were able to get together.

Thanks for the compliments on the "ponies" . . they were lots of fun to make! I just decided to do that and make them our own and long enough for us. It was fun!

THANKS AGAIN, my friend
Trusting we'll be able to give each other hugs again!
GOD BLESS!

Talked to Ruth yesterday morning . . they were leaving Durango and headed back to Colorado Springs . . .:(
She told me the train ride was WONDERFUL, the day was great and the wind didn't bother them too much as they were down in the mountain valley. If you've ever been in the Colorado Rocky Mountains you'll know what I mean about the "valleys". Ruth's hubby was commenting to me about our mountains being "very rugged" and not like theirs in Georgia.
Anyway, she'll be headed back to Georgia this weekend . . . I'll cherish that time with her forever!!!
Thanks Ruth!
CJ

P.S. and THANKS to your hubby, son and daughter-in-law!!!

Wonderful! I love the pic with the pup! We are all so fortunate to be able to meet now and again. I sure feel lucky to have Janice (Miss Bee Haven)and Miss Wilma so close to me. Our friendships are the most important of my adult life!

Diane,
I'll bet you that the "Virtual CJ" is a WHOLE lot lighter than the real one!!!!! But then the real one is warm and cuddly . . with a pretty loud laugh!!!! Again, I thank you for the friendship that you have shown me by doing the "virtual CJ" . . .
I'm looking forward in a way I can't describe to meeting you . . . . and all the other farmgirls along the way!!!!
ONE MONTH AWAY!!!!

I hope Ruth and her family weren't blown to pieces today. They were going to ride the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge train today. The wind has been HORRIBLE!!!! I only hope that the mountainous valleys the train goes through protect them . . . cuz the wind is UUUGGGLLLYYY!!!!

Isn't it amazing that when we meet a fellow farmgirl, it feels like we know each other already? The MaryJane's Farm apron strings that bind us all together! CJ and Ruth, you two are the epitome of beautiful farmgirls! Bramble is cute too! I can't wait until the end of June when I can finally meet CJ in the flesh. I have been carrying around Virtual CJ for almost a year now. (Virtual CJ is a lifesize photo cut-out of CJ)

Great photos - so glad you both got to meet. And its always nice to see photos of other farmgirls to put the face with the name. You both really do look fantastic - and Bramble too, of course.

It really is amazing how connected you feel to the other farmgirls - I was fortunate to meet several farmgirls last weekend and I'm still smiling about it. It was great!

Also, CJ - I got my T-shirts too. Thanks.

So great that you all were able to do that! There use to be a thread on MJF somewhere where farmgirls were offering to let other traveling farmgirls stay at their homes so they wouldn't have to pay for a hotel room...they may have to go out of town for work or something and need a room. What a great way to meet other farmgirls and show your hospitality...and play B&B keeper:) I hope to be able to do this someday :)

What a fun blessing!! I was telling my DH this morning, how we all laugh together, cry together, and pray for eachother, and there is a friend in every state, yet no faces. I said I'd like to travel so I could meet and spend time with some of you dear women. This is an example of exactly what I ment. So happy for the both of you! Hugs!!

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

It was just like I've known her forever!!! Sharon, I'm sorry you didn't get to join us. It was a tricky orchestration and barely squeezed in . . . it was true gift to get that short time with her.
We heard folks congratulating Jude at "Let It Grow" this morning!!!
Good times!
