Had to share this...my mom, Violet and I went to the zoo yesterday and she absolutely loved the Manatees (and the Giraffes, and Elephants--apparently, the bigger the better!). But she kept saying, "lut, momma, it a modster", though she wasn't a bit afraid--more like totally in awe!

Thanks, girls :) Jeannie, she is gettting TOO big! She's built like her daddy, long and lean--still wearing an 18-24 month in the waist, but she's soooo long, everything is "micro" on her!!! Capris become bermudas and we've had to forego regular shorts. They are just TOO short!

She is in absolute wonder of that manatee. And she seems to live that way each and everyday, and me in turn. Seeing the world through her eyes is SUCH a blessing!!!

Adorable - you can feel her excitement. Its so good to see children enjoy things so "fully" - it makes us remember that sense of awe, and how important it is... Thanks for sharing.

very Sweet, Jonni. Like Megan said--send this pic to the zoo and they might want to make Violet their star for a day.
I hope she doesn't decide to eat her salad under water. LOL MB

Aww, Jonni, she is so adorable! You should send it to the zoo, maybe little Violet will end up in one of their brochures or something!

Thanks, Connie. Such a good day. Kept me in good spirits, even when I had to get up for work this morning :) I might send it to the zoo, you never know! I love my Silver Back Gorilla pic, too--may just send it their way!

Lovely picture! I'm glad you captured the moment. I love pictures of kids from behind when they are totally absorbed in something. Their body language says as much as their face ever could. You should send it to the zoo. They may use it in a publication or ad. That would be fun!

one of the nice things about having a big family is that we can buy a zoo pass for the same cost of one day admission!

Corinne, we were going to get a pass this year, but since we're going to Sesame Place, we decided to wait until next year. As it is, we can get discount tickets, and I don't mind paying. The zoo, like your children realize, is the best!!! She really loves the giraffes, so we left with a stuffed giraffe

@Debi--she was just so interested in what they were doing, and the baby manatee went up to the surface to grab his romaine lettuce about every 2 minutes, then he would pull it down with both paws, then swim to the bottom and hold onto it and eat. And she just thought it was the best thing, ever.

Thanks, Alee...I'm crazy about it. Thinking of having one framed for my desk. She was like a little spider, glued there to that glass for about 20 minutes, watching every single move that baby Manatee made.
