I can now taste chemicals. And while I knew the were in a lot of foods- I can now TASTE them. There is this metalic burning aftertaste in everything that has artificial flavors, coloring and preservatives in it. YUCK! It has been getting stronger and stronger this past week.

I try to eat a lot of "whole" foods and we don't usually have a lot of processed foods on hand which is good- but I don't even want to eat hardly at all now because I am afraid of what I am going to be tasting for the next couple hours. My MaryJanesFarm stash has been a life saver. No nasty tastes there!

I think this farmgirl is going to be pushing her family into all organic foods even faster now. I am not going to buy food that I can't eat and my husband and I both agreed that we should sit down and watch Food INC together sometime this week.

I am really glad he is a closet environmentalist. If I put the material infront of him I might be able to draw him out of his shell and get him involved...but it has to be his idea. Wish me luck!

I finally feel like I have a good foothold in forcing our house to the slightly more expensive but better organic lifestyle...I mean if I can't eat the food- why buy it- right?

FarmDream- Yes Netflix is good about having those shows for us. We have watched a lot of them from there.

How awful. I would hate that taste, too. My family is working on switching to organics also. An upside is that it's really not more expensive. You'll find that a lot of processed food is wasted because no one cares much for it. You'll find your appetite more satisfied with organic/whole food and you'll feel full longer, thus wasting less food.

If you have Netflix, you can watch King Corn, Food inc, the Future of Food, Fast Food Nation, and others. Best of luck to you.

Thanks ladies- yes definitly a Blessing! I am actually kindof pleased! I know that sounds weird but I am going to use this as a tool help us get to a healthier place in our life.

I am experiencing a lot of pain yesterday and today- but that was expected. I am so glad that we have some options in this area for non processed food. :)

Glad you are feeling better Alee and I hope you continue to heal. The after effects of the chemicals are terrible. I too am trying to hard to rid my kitchen of processed foods but it is harder to convince hubby but I will not give up.
Have a beautiful day.

It's a great plan, and BEST of luck! We don't have a lot of processed foods here either, but yuck, if I had to taste the chemicals! Just look at it as a blessing in disguise. If you ever eat out, be very careful what you order, now that the processed foods flavor is more predominate to you.
I'm glad your surgery went well, and that you're feeling better. How's Nora? Is she home from grandmas yet?

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.
