I had the best time on Saturday. We went to Tishomingo, OK, better known as Tish, and participated in their first annual "Back To The Good Ol' Days" festival. The whole thing was to educate younger people about sustainable living at the turn of the 20th century to mid century. We had a blast, all dressed up in costume. If you'd like to see pictures, I've put them up at the blog and you HAVE to read the funny story one of the visitors related to me. It's an, "Oh honey" moment!

Cheryl, I have not. That sounds like something we need to do!! I'll ask my friends in Tish if they've been and what they think about it. Ft. Wash-ita (spelled it that way so the censor feature wouldn't ** it) had a terrible fire last year. Did they go ahead and have the Fur Trade? When I was in Tish, we used to attend that every year. Pretty neat. Glad you liked the pictures.

Mary Beth,

We normally try to go to the Fur Trade at Ft. Wash**a, but didn't get to this year. I hate when they schedule it and the Medieval Fair at Norman on the same weekend!!!

Have you ever been to the Magnolia Festival at Durant? Any thoughts? I've haven't been, but thought it sounded interesting. I think they have hot air balloons also.

Love the new pictures!

A lady who was involved in the "doings" on Saturday, (her name is Mary Jane too!) sent me some photos that she took and so I added them to the post. Pretty cute of the games.

Annette, maybe they can come next year. Now that Tish has made the attempt, they are already trying to think of ways to make it bigger.

Cheryl, you will have to hop down there next year!!

Oh Mary Beth -

That is so funny! Sounds like you had a good time. Reminds me of a lady who came up to me when I was working at the fair a couple of years ago and asked me how I made milk!!!! It's amazing what people DON'T know!!!

Hugs,

HOW GREAT! I love the whole thing. Seriously wonderful. My aunt and all my cousins are in OK, I should see if they heard of this, or maybe went? The wheat story is too funny!! And the original layout of the bank counter, that place is beautiful!! What a wonderful thing you were able to take part in. I havent been back to OK in 20+ years! One day, I will make it back!

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.
