The past few days I have been cleaning up around our ranch..
and one of the biggest tasks I had to get done was this old calving barn. I still use it, but it just needed a makeover.
So I started Monday with this:

Added two coats of white paint, Made some shutters out of 1x4s, sanded down the rusted metal doors and painted them red. Hung up an old Watusi Bull Skull. And Viola.. My new calving Barn :)

What a difference a lot of work did. Good job! I would love to have something like that here but not enough room on 3 acres. Maybe one day.

Beautiful!! We just finished fixing the roof on ours. It got hit by a tornado last summer and my Dad and hubby FINALLY had a day that my hubby was off, the wind wasn't blowing, and they didn't have anything else going on. SOOO the barn finally has the rest of it's roof. We've been using it anyway, due to the fact that we are calving, but it's nice that the roof is completely done now. The tornado took about a third of it. Quite a storm that night. I'm just thankful that it hit there and not my trailer house!!

You did an awesome job on your barn. You'll be so proud of yourself everytime you use it!!

It looks great! Im cleaning my barn too. the previous owners let it go for years. I found three dead animals and enough poop to blame a dinosaur! I love your bull skull.

Connie, Thank you and you are absolutely right. I took before and after pictures just so I could see the real changes. I was amazed after it was done.
We had some well houses that were just grey cinder block colored. I got those painted white as well.. It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint does.

I am also re-doing another barn that is out back. I cleaned up around it and started painting, got 2 sides done and found a HUGE wasp nest. I just took to running away :) I'll finish that tomorrow, because it's raining here today. But, this barn is going to be cute :)

Wow all that hard work paid off! Don't you just love the gratification of looking at a finished project? That is a calving barn to be proud of!
