One of the sports we compete in is Cowboy Mounted Shooting.
in a nutshell it's a speed event you take a horse, 2 single action .45 long colts and yourself and try to hit 10 targets.
But, today I went to get my usual horse, Maggie Mae... and she took off running.. So I had to take my fiancé's horse, and he is a rocket.
I won Ladies Overall Reserve today.. Won me a big buckle.. I am so happy I can't stand it.. I've been on a bit of a blowing up spree the past 6 months, Maggie was doing her job. I just wasn't doing mine.
But today it all came together  I was so proud I just had to brag on myself.

ok so i am so totally impressed. i know how hard it is to hit a target that is not moving. so to be on a horse running and do what you did. WOW that is some amazing riding and shooting. happy days for you. and not even your normal mount. yipee sherrye

We are a little more routy in the south, when we go to big competitions out west, people are usually like where are you from.. We are loud :) I especially start yelling if it's going good. Maggie usually starts running faster.
But you are right about the going back in time. You are required to wear chinks, hats, long sleeve button down shirts and hats. But women can wear dresses. and believe me you want a dress in the summer down here. I make all the dresses I shoot in.
