I'm worried about farmgirls that were in the area of the tornados this weekend. Please check in here so we know you are OK. We are here for you!

We live in central NC about an hour and a half South of Raleigh.

We received a lot of rain and wind in the span of 20 minutes, but it passed through w/o incident and the sun was back out.

Given all the deaths, I sure do wic=sh something could be done to make mobile homes more stable

Correction: I spoke to a friend in Ahoskie, NC tonight who told me Windsor lost 20 buildings not 200. They are still flooded and still bad thou so please still send prayers. Joey

No thanks necessary. We lost our downtown, including our office in a 1999 tornado. So I am a little sensitive around this subject. :) I also love NC. If I wasn't rooted here I would like to live there.
Still interested to hear if everyone is OK.

My DD and SIL have a farm in NC and I spent 6 months in Ahoskie, NC (upper NE) last year. My DD farm got high winds that blew both big wooden rocking chairs off the porch but they and the farm are all fine. I'm sorry to say that the little town of Windsor, NC (next below Ahoskie) got hit hard and flooded ruining over 200 homes and businesses. This was a nice historic town with a tiny zoo at the playground and a boardwalk thru a swamp and an active downtown. It breaks my heart. Thankfully, all the people I know there are fine but they are hurting. Thanks for starting this thread, Connie and please keep the Windsor folks in your hearts/prayers as they dig out and try to start over. Hugs, Joey

So glad for you Valerie. And thank YOU Connie, for starting this thread. I heard on the news that cell phones & electricity is out in a lot of places. Maybe other farmgirl friends can also let us know if they hear from friends in these devastated areas. God bless these people and may we help them in anyway we can..and may they find important parts of their past in the ruins.

Although we were under a tornado watch for most of Saturday. We missed having any damage where I live, although I recently heard in the news that the Potomac River has broke the banks in some areas.

Those tornadoes did a lot of damage and caused quite a few deaths. I do hope that all the farmgirls in those areas are OK.

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
