Dear Farmgirls,

I just wanted to let you know that we got the house in Pa. But, I am so emotional. It is super exciting to have the money and the freedom to buy a home...we have waited 18 yrs for this moment. And even though it is not the home we initially imagined we would have...it is still beautiful and us. So, I am very excited about living there and being close to all of our families. It will be good for my daughter and I. On the other hand, with an impending year long deployment tagging along this change...I am very sad that with such a life changing purchase my DH will not be here to enjoy the home. How did I get so lucky to have such a giving man? Here he is going off again to war, and he is doing everything in his power to make sure we are also secure here in the US....I just can't believe that with all this goodness and love, there can be so much sadness. We should be moving in together, decorating and living and loving together, and once again, our lives do not afford us this privlege....yet, we are very blessed in spite of all this....I can't stop crying...I am scared, excited, and overwhelmed....please pray for us..that all will be fine....he will come home safely and we can be a whole family. Erica

Praying for your family. Excited for you, and crying for you too. I pray a speedy year for your DH. Maybe you will be all decorated, settled, and free to spend time just living and loving in your new home, upon your DH's safe return!

Thank you, your whole family, for what you ALL do for us. &hearts

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Blessings and peace to your heart, Erica - and many, many thanks to you and your family, for it is truly the whole family that serves and gives of themselves when a loved one enters into the armed forces; the girls are absolutely right. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you. On the other hand, it is also pretty exciting to have a new home to "play" with, and to be able to be surrounded by family and friends in the midst of all of this! I pray that your husband's year of deployment passes safely and quickly so that he'll be joining you in this new life in PA as swiftly as possible. Remember, we're all here for you! Heartfelt hugs - Nini

Erica,
I am excited and happy for you, yet can see how and why you are feeling the way you are. I think you just have to let yourself go through all of the feelings you are having and take everything day by day. It will all work out, and remember that you will be closer to family to lean on for support and you will always have your fellow farmgirl sisters to lean on for encouragement! Thank GOD for people like your husband, who makes our lives of freedom possible. You should be VERY proud of him!! My prayers are with you as you make this transition. Praying for PEACE within you and in our crazy world!
Please thank your husband again!
Warm Hugs,
Laurie

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..
LeighErica Posted - Mar 31 2011 : 7:19:27 PM
Thank you everyone...your kindness and friendship means more to me than you will ever know. Today was a pretty rough day...I do this to myself...stressing, anxious and gave myself a migraine...so now I am completely miserable. But, there were highlights to the day...I mailed in the "good faith" check, had lunch with my son who is entering the Marines and graduating HS soon. And my DH had a dinner meeting with collegues, so I got to spend some good, happy, laughing fun time with my son and daughter this evening. Took some medicine and waiting to see if the pain will go away. My family has been blessed beyond measure in many ways, and I have so much to be thankful for. This little emotional setback cannot deter my joy or pride for what is true. It was just one of those days I guess. So, thank you all again. CJ, you never know, we may still meet..I haven't left yet:) Hugs to all of you, Erica

I second what Mary Beth just said! Thank you....your whole family. Your courage and your service to our country is precious.

May you enjoy your new home and may your honey return safely to the beauty your will create while he is away. I am sure, his thoughts will be with you, in all that you do this coming year. May God richly bless each of you!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Oh Erica my heart cries for you as I know from personal experience what you are going through. Our jobs as military wives are to keep the home fires burning for our soldiers until they return to us. You are a strong woman I can tell from our correspondence and you know what your duties are as the strong military wife. I will keep you and especially your Dear Husband in my prayers, I thank him and you for his service and your sacrifice. I will also pray that the year flies by for you.

See you soon.

Farm girl Hugs,
Debbie
