Posted - Mar 24 2011 : 09:48:22 AM I posted a while back that I had found quite a few of my blood family.
Suffice it to say, maybe there is a grand plan that you don't "know" them. I found the really hurt button and am pretty down about it. I'll be fine, jus severely disappointed.
I have a great hubby and fab son and a few nifty relatives. Be glad for that.

Posted - Mar 26 2011 : 9:24:18 PM Hi Winona, I'm so sorry to hear about your family issues. I truly believe that the good Lord places non-family people in our lives to "fill in the roles of family" where blood family should have. I have been blessed with knowing so many lovely people that have been mom-like, grandma like, etc. You have a wonderful husband and son and that's a good foundation to build on. Wishing you a happy smile!

Posted - Mar 24 2011 : 10:53:22 AM So sad and disappointing, Winona. You deserve the best - I'm so glad you have a wonderful hubby and son! A good friend of mine and her husband both had similar experiences with long-lost family, and it didn't end so well, either. They enjoyed a super nice honeymoon period with their new found families before the storm began, but things quickly became very ugly thereafter, and for their own peaces of mind, ties had to be cut. It was heartbreaking. I know that not all reunions end in such tragic ways, and I also know people for whom they are blessings, but when they do sour, they really do hurt. My heart hurts for yours, it really does. The wonderful thing truly is, though, that you are so very loved by your husband and son; they are the real lights in your life who complete you. May you always find extreme happiness, utter joy and contented peace in their loving hearts, and may your family begin to flourish and grow based upon the solid foundation you have created with them! Hugs - Nini
