How do you all feel about wind chimes? Do you love them? Hate them? Do you like the high pitched tinkling chimes or the low deep chimes?

We were given a Mare and Foal metal cut out wind chime for Christmas. It's beautiful and while I don't normally enjoy the sound of Windchimes so much as to put one up, I did put this one up. I must admit that I have really come to love it.

Nora just found a wind chime at the Dollar store that she loves so we bought that and put it outside as well. I am hoping the two chimes work well together!

I love them. The lower tones are my favorite, and my English Pointers too. The higher clanky ones, make her bark!! And well, that defeats the purpose, and I'm sure the neighbors hate it. All of mine lasted years on the farm, but in moving to Rio Vista, on the top of the highest hill, they are no more:(. I'll be investing in a more rugged set, if I find the right tones for me and our huntin' girl.

The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

I love wind chimes. I have many but the one I love the most used to hang on my Mother's porch for years. No one else wanted it so it now resides on my front porch and it is up all year. It has a beautifl tone and has withstood all the elements and chimes daily. It's my daily reminder of MOTHER! It's funny how sometimes what you might think the least of, turns out to be a Blessing! I have many things that aren't valuable in $ but are more than any $ could buy. Her robe hangs with mine. Her sweater, aprons, plants inside and those popping up outside...PRICELESS!

I would love some hand tuned wind chimes. Oh they sound so beautiful. But they are pricey!

I love wind chimes. We don't hang them too close to the house though. I hang them mostly in a little hidden garden out in the woods. It surprises family and friends when they walk around our property.

I really like them, as long as they're hand tuned, like the Stoddard chimes or ones like them. Also, I have a fondness for them because one of the very first Christmas gifts Justin ever gave me was a beautiful copper wind chime that was tuned to the Gregorian scale. It's like a whisper in the early spring, when the March winds come in.

I actually had to replace the hanging wooden part because the weather had finally done in the string.

I also have a chime made from antique silver. It's clangy, but really adorable.

LOVE! Especially the big ones.

Ours is on the front porch and is in the mid range

Found it at Garden Ridge a few years ago and took 20 minutes trying to decide on the right pitch and melody

Hi all :) I hope you do not mind if I chime in ? ;) I am still exploring all the threads this wonderful place has to offer & I seen this one & had to share. I love my wind chimes they are called Gentle Spirits, they are 3 feet long & sound like a symphony when the wind blows them. People often inquire where I got them. They are playing now, there is a gentle breeze & sound so pretty, when the wind blows harder the sound is different :) They have with stood many a nasty wind storm but when I go on vacation they come inside as I am afraid someone might snitch them as they have stolen other things in my yard :( Well, thank you for allowing me to chime in ;)

Blessings

I had a Bamboo one ('had' is the key word)...we had one heck of a wind storm blow through...next day,,,I had Bamboo sticks,as much as I could find, all strewn over our property! lol!
Make mental note...take wind chimes down when expecting strong winds! lololol!

I love wind chimes!!! I have to use the heavier metal ones because of our winds! Have a couple of the metal triangle ones and they each sound different. I love all the pitches as long as they are "musical".
I have some smaller ones with the metal tubes closer to the side of the house where they are bashed about so much by the wind.
I'd have more . . . :)

I love them and could have a dozen in my yard. They have to have a soothing sound to them high or low as long as it does not clank. I saw the most beautiful ones at Silver Dollar City in Branson for a small cost of 1000.00 you could have an organ in your back yard they were tuned perfectly.
My DH is going to try and make one.

I adore windchimes...I just got a cool pewter creamer to make a windchime with old silver plated silverware I have that has worn so much they can't be used anymore...been dragging them around with me for years because they were from my 1st marriage & I just couldn't get rid of them...I have tiny tiny chimes that sound so pretty that I like to hang up in the trees...I have a dead peach tree that was planted in the 1920's that is so pretty I am decorating it with windchimes & birdhouses this spring....Michele'

i love them...as i am getting older i find that i like both sounds however my fave is the deep bamboo or real low sounding ones....im anxious to find my box of chimes and get them back out!!!
i have a bad habit of buying them for gifts then keeping them!

i dont currently own any that are the sound i truly love-those seem to be pricier!!!! of course!!!

I love them, all of them doesn't matter what the sound is but then I like the wind too. I have 3 on my back porch and two on the front porch.
