Dang I've missed you kids! (this is a long post)
It's been a wierd and busy few months, and while I've meant to get on here,it seems to have been one thing after another, the latest is I caught whatever bug was going around and I was really sick for 2 weeks-then Dad got it,and he's still got a good cough, but we're getting better.
Well,we're not moving to NM as we had hoped. We have the house, but dealing with the company that we purchased the house from (and were supposed to get it rented for us) totally flaked out after the sale was a "done deal". I've never seen my father get so angry-and I don't blame him-he got a swell deal on home insurance for both houses. However-it wasn't mentioned the company we went with didn't insure empty houses. In short,as the person who was supposed to get it rented did nothing since November,Dad lost a lot of $$ when the insurance company cancelled and he had to go with another outfit that would insure an empty house, but he's paying a lot more now. From the handyman who was supposed to get the house rent ready to everyone we've dealt with, they seem to not be interested in conducting "good business practices". You call & leave a message, they never call back. You email, you never get a reply. The only person who came thru pretty good was the roofer Dad hired to put a metal roof on the house, and after the job was done, even tho Dad had a couple of questions for him,he's never replied. All this has turned Dad against ever moving back there. When he would ask about why people don't call back, keep you updated, etc. all he's gotten for a reply is "well, things are done different down here & it takes awhile to get used to it".
He "fired" the woman who was supposed to get it rented and has went with a big company that gets houses rented. The rental contract for a tenant is 3 years,in which case I'd say he'll be too old to handle a move the way he wants to (doing it himself).
Oddly enough,I've been shocked at how it hasn't upset me about not making the move. I'm amazingly fine with staying here-even tho I don't like the way our neighborhood has went,it's been a load off my mind that Dad won't be trying to take everything with him.
My part time job at the college has continued to shrink tho I get a busy week once every semester. Luckily I got 2 days this week, which made up for what I lost when I was sick.
I've been loading up my store on farmade and closed the Prostores that was costing me $20 a month. I'm a powerseller on eBay,and a top rated seller, tho the biz at this point is taking in every penny that it's making. But as sales increase,I'm sure the biz will be giving me a paycheck in the future. In the meantime I've cinched my moneybelt up a couple of notches which means I won't be putting anything into savings for the next few months so I have the $$ to pay my own expenses. Now that things are settling down here I'm hoping to get back to looking at the different things I've committed to & have accidently ignored due to all the craziness. Sorry I've been so absent but as you can see,it's been sorta crazy here.

Ladies my biggest mistake lately has been not coming here for the caring support of my Farmgirl sisters.
Alee, you are right about my worrying about Dad. It is a welcome relief.
Nini, all prayers would be welcomed. I've also been worried about how super stressed Dad has gotten over getting the place rented. Tenants would be a big relief.
Prayers for more sales in my store & good guidance on choosing inventory would be welcome for me too. I'll admit I've been losing a lot of pluck seeing my paychecks shrink and knowing that not being able to give Dad $$ monthly is wearing on him-not that we're broke by any stretch, but he's wanting me to "get another job". Sorta impossible until he gets the pedal extenders on my car so I can get licensed. Even with that,I'd like to see if I could start teaching ukulele as opposed to another "job" that only gives me a paycheck & no personal satisfaction.
I'm having to re-teach myself the art of pluckiness & changing my luck. So far my thoughts & fears of being broke have been 100% successful in drawing that reality to me and I need to change the picture, which I am now working on.
I have sold a uke gig bag I made to a girl in England. I'm holding it for her until early April, but good to know I've already made a sale for next month.

Hi Sherrie- I am so sorry that the move didn't go through. That is disappointing. I am glad that the big move isn't giving you or your dad lots of stress- I know you were worried about that. *hugs*

Hi Sherrie! I'm so glad to see you back! :) I'm so sorry things aren't going as hoped and expected... How frustrating! I will say prayers that it will all be resolved in time and that you and your Dad will soon have peace of mind. Hang in there. Hugs - Nini

To be honest,I've been really caught up running the business & blogs. Wanting more of an income as my part time job at the college has went down to 1 day a week or less. While I've been wanting to leave that job,I wasn't quite ready for the cutback. Good to be back here!

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
