What? An invitation to AARP? With my name on it??? LOL - guess that special birthday is creeping up on me. So, gals, is it worth the membership?

Nini, I used to work at the courthouse in one of our counties here. That's the way we got some of the newbies. We'd give them a sticky note with the funeral home phone # on it and the note: Myra Mains needs you to call her" and they would dial, ask for Myra Mains and then sit there looking really foolish. Yes, we were mean. :-)

Grace! That's awful! I think I'd be calling that place and ask to speak with Myra Mains and see how long it takes them to get it!! :-)

Uuuugggghhhhh! That's HORRIBLE, Grace!!! I wouldn't be concerned, but I sure would want to send them a funny reply... I'm going to have to think about that one for a little bit... - Nini

Ok, so I have to chuckle,,,we have been getting AARP "Invatations" for quite some years, yes, even before we turned 50...
But now we are getting "Creamation" invitations from a local Creamatorium....ummm, should I be concerned?

I agree with all the above, not worth it. And with Mary Beth about not being old enough to be this old, I'm almost 68 and can't believe how fast the years have gone by.

I'm a member of Generation America at http://www.generationamerica.org/ and get the same discounts as AARP without all the political stuff that AARP is involved in that I don't agree with. I get discounts on hotels, prescriptions, etc. And yes, I'm old - all of 57. I just told my husband that I'm too young to be this old!! :-)

If there is a phone numer or contact info you can ask them to stop sending you stuff. They will have to comply.

I keep tossing mine in File 13. And they just keep sending them. Ugh! Worthless junk-mail!
