CJ....

I just popped over to your blog and saw your latest creations...Lord girlfriend I LOVE the new aprons you have listed. I left a comment and then went on-line to look for the designer that your aprons reminded me of and I found it! Do you remember Gunne Sax from the 70's?

I do....

(Picture of Gunne Sax)

Sure brought back some memories CJ-You are so talented!

Thanks girls!! Actually, Cheryl, that one apron is a yummy cream color . . all over!
The other two are mostly pink and white. It's fun to see what I can put together.
Thanks again!

I wore a gunne sax dress to my JR/SR Prom when I was 16 it was cream & so yummy. My Mom got her money's worth out of it though & had my little sister wear it to her 8th grade graduation too.

the "layer cakes" are by far my favorite. they'd look so cute over a pair of jeans! as for gunnie sax...i have a love/hate relationship with that brand. i absolutly adrore the look, but can never find them in my size! they certainly were not made for girls with tatas.

Oh my...what memories you have encouraged! I wore a Gunne Sax as a wedding dress in 1976. Paid all of $30.00 for it. My maid of honor wore a floor length patchwork skirt!! It was great.

CJ,

Your new aprons are beautiful!!! Will you be making full aprons in a similar style with the layers? If so I will have to get one. I just love the cow apron you gave me, I still get a lot of compliments on it too :)

CJ,
You need to make an apron with chaps like the one shown in MJF magazine for the Wild West road trip! I have been working on raffia cowgirl hats. I have one almost done in Lavender! I will post photo when I am done.

Oh but SHOOT!!!

Wikipedia says that GunneSax is a line of clothing for YOUNG WOMEN!

That's OK. Apparently, the style has really cruised into modern times under a different name.

I'll still enjoy my hippie style, patchouli and all.

Oh does that bring back memories...Gunne Sax! For my first wedding in 1981, I wore a Gunne Sax dress. My sister bought it for prom and only wore it for a couple of hours. I decided to re-purpose it into my wedding dress. It was a cream confection with tiny violets at the bodice. My Mom crocheted me an almost floor length shawl out of cream colored thread and I wore a cream floppy hat with violets ringing the crown. Quite the flower child look! See, I was frugal even back then!

CJ's aprons are to die for! They are so well made and reasonable too. I am starting a collection of them.
