I just popped over to your blog and saw your latest creations...Lord girlfriend I LOVE the new aprons you have listed. I left a comment and then went on-line to look for the designer that your aprons reminded me of and I found it! Do you remember Gunne Sax from the 70's?
I do....
(Picture of Gunne Sax)
Sure brought back some memories CJ-You are so talented!

Posted - Mar 09 2011 : 05:43:29 AM the "layer cakes" are by far my favorite. they'd look so cute over a pair of jeans! as for gunnie sax...i have a love/hate relationship with that brand. i absolutly adrore the look, but can never find them in my size! they certainly were not made for girls with tatas.

Your new aprons are beautiful!!! Will you be making full aprons in a similar style with the layers? If so I will have to get one. I just love the cow apron you gave me, I still get a lot of compliments on it too :)

Posted - Feb 27 2011 : 10:16:40 AM Oh but SHOOT!!!
Wikipedia says that GunneSax is a line of clothing for YOUNG WOMEN!
That's OK. Apparently, the style has really cruised into modern times under a different name.
I'll still enjoy my hippie style, patchouli and all.

Posted - Feb 26 2011 : 10:32:39 AM Oh does that bring back memories...Gunne Sax! For my first wedding in 1981, I wore a Gunne Sax dress. My sister bought it for prom and only wore it for a couple of hours. I decided to re-purpose it into my wedding dress. It was a cream confection with tiny violets at the bodice. My Mom crocheted me an almost floor length shawl out of cream colored thread and I wore a cream floppy hat with violets ringing the crown. Quite the flower child look! See, I was frugal even back then!
CJ's aprons are to die for! They are so well made and reasonable too. I am starting a collection of them.
