are you a 'jewelry-kinda' gal? i mostly wear either vintage jewelry .. or 'leather/fur/beaded' long-hunter RENDEZVOUS type necklaces or bags around my neck. (have a small log cabin necklace my daughter gave to me .. that is almost always worn either outside or inside my shirt. (it's kinda' my TOTEM). wear a watch 24/7 .. but rarely wear bracelets .. unless it is leather bands and then mostly those during autumn/winter.

how's about you?

Hey girls~I love jewelry also and have my own little business creating one-of-a-kind pieces for customers. I'm like you Jude, I don't hardly wear any tho'. I have a watch that I made that is sterling silver, a thumb ring that says "truth" on it, and whatever earrings match my outfit. Usually I just grab some silver ones cuz' they go with everything! I am married but don't wear my wedding ring since the prongs holding the diamond are loose. I would be crushed if I lost the diamond since it was from the ring that my dad gave my mom and he passed away when I was 6. I am wanting to get it reset in a silver setting anyway. My girls on the other hand are jewelry junkies! I have to make new stuff for any new outfits they may get. I don't mind tho'! Hope you all are having a great week! ~Prairiemomma~

Funny as it may be, I make jewelry, but I hardly wear any! I rarely even wear my wedding band. It's just one of those things I don't think about when I'm getting ready. I love gemstones, vintage beads, sterling silver. I'm trying to get better about it. I like to support local artists, so I've made it a point to buy a new pair of earrings or necklace occassionally. And in an attempt to promote my own jewelry I've been trying to remember to wear a peice of my own now & again. The most important thing to me is that it has meaning. I like to pick little things up while my DH & I are traveling, on a special day or for a milestone achievement. I like to have an association between the jewelry & something important to me, or with vintage jewelry...i love that it has history.

I'm not much into the "Bling Bling" thing as my DD calls it. I wear a gold necklace and my wedding/engagement ring. Sometimes I wear another ring on my right hand. They have been given to me by my husband except for one. That is a ring of my grandmother's. It is a 7 ct emarald cut Aquamarine with two 1/3 ct real rubies on either side set in 18 carot gold. I absolutely love it.

Eventually, I will inherit my great-grandmother's and the rest of my grandmother's jewelry along with my mother's.

I am an earring junkie!!! I LOVE earrings!! Anything that catches my eye, I get, cuz they are generally pretty reasonably priced. I have to wear my watch....I'm a clock watcher, I confess........but I do take it off at night. I wear one ring on my toe.......and whatever necklace that goes with what I'm wearing!! but earrings are a must.

Hi, my name is Moe and I'm a jewel-aholic.
It is a sickness, and it is hereditary. I got it from my mom.
One cold winter, around our 7th year of marriage, I lost my wedding band. It was just a plain gold band, nothing expensive but I was sick. It fell off my finger somewhere. My fingers shrink when its cold and it was too loose. Five years ago my DH bought me a new ring for our 25th anniversary which I love love love, and never take off....makes me too nervous it'll get lost!
My mother has passed several rings on to me and I keep adding to my collection. I love bracelets too, oh and I love earrings. In fact I am going to go with my daughter for my bday in a few weeks, and get another piercing on them (or two). I had them doubled many years ago but they just wouldnt heal. Never had a problem with my first piercing - my sister pierced them when I was 11 up in her bedroom with a sewing needle after she "knumbed" them with a piece of ice!My mom almost killed her!! Anyway, fun topic, Frannie!!

Rebekah, I think the vial of ashes is very cool. Maybe that's just the goth-chick in me, but at the heart of the matter it also seems like a very traditional mourning practice. Like keeping a lock of your loved one's hair in a locket. You're probably wise to not share that info too freely, though.

I love jewelry in theory, but I can't stand to have anything around my neck and I like my ears too much to make holes in them. So it's just watches and rings for me. I have a wedding ring, but recently I switched back to wearing my engagement ring on that finger instead. It's a small gold cladagh ring. I stopped wearing the wedding ring because it was less comfortable, and truthfully the other one means more to me. The wedding ring was just something we got because we felt like we needed to have them in time for the ceremony.

My favorite jewelry is the costume jewelry my mom used to buy at the VOA for me when I was little. Lots of glittery brooches and clip on earrings. I only have a few intact pieces left, because at one point I buried my stash in the dirt floor of our root cellar (it was a pirate thing). I keep it all in the little pink jewelry box that my mom handed down to me when I was in grade school, and sometimes I still like to take out my jewels and gloat over them.

I like my jewelry just like I like my hair...big. (Guess I'm still in the '80's in the South.) I have always worn tons of jewelry. Lots of bracelets, rings galore, necklaces layered, big earrings. No anklets, toe rings, belly rings or nose rings, though. (Guess I'm still in the '80's in the South on that one too.) However, I now wear one necklace, with a golden vial containing cremains from a dear loved one who recently died. (Definitely OUT of the '80's in the South on that one...) In fact, no one other than my husband knows what is in that beautiful golden vial. I get comments all the time on its beauty and uniqueness and I just say "thank you." Sounds too freaky otherwise. I think folks would draw back and say Eeww...ashes?! I know for sure my friends and family would. But, that's the only jewelry I have around my neck at this point in my life. (I better hit "submit" before I change my mind on sharing this tidbit of info...)

Hey, Tracy, Happy Birthday, tomorrow. I hope and pray it is a wonderful day for you full of fun and surprises that have great memories attached.

I love jewelry, though I don't over do it when I wear it; earrings, necklace and bracelet, but not always all of them. I just love to have lots to choose from and like to coordinate it with my clothes and holiday/occassions. I work in an office so that also gives me lots of reasons to keep my eye out for new things. I always look at yard sales, but won't pass up a good sale at the store either. And if you have the opportunity to see an Avon catalog, they really have nice costume jewelry and watches to choose from, too, it can be such a hard decision. I bet you could even look online if you don't have a rep in your location. Where do most of you shop for jewelry?

One thing that never comes off is my wedding band and engagement ring, they are plain and simple gold bands with a traditional solitaire diamond, just how I like it. I'm not a glitzy jewelry person, but I do like a little sparkle. As of late, I'm becoming more and more attracted to all the handmade jewelry with the beads and stones. I know it's probably been out and around for awhile, but I don't always catch on right away. ;O)

The one piece of jewelry I always wear is a cross necklace. Just recently I was invited to a jewelry show and they had several different cross necklaces to choose from with colored stones - perfect! Usually it's either a silver or gold one, now I can match crosses with the colors I am wearing.

I love wearing broaches/pins on my blazers in the fall and winter to work or church. Oh, and a lot of times I will wear a bracelet. All this is usually when I'm working or going to church or out somewhere, not for everyday chores. As soon as I get home from work, it all comes off and goes in the jewelry box or on the dresser.

This was fun to talk about. Outside of my engagement diamond, I don't own anything of any value to pass along to my daughter or daughter-in-laws, but my daughter said that she still wanted my jewelry when I no longer needed it. So I guess that's worth something.

Blessings to you all.

In His hands,
Lynda L.

Pray in faith and you will not live in doubt.

I wear a wedding band my husband gave me and my Grandmothers wedding band that I found in my mothers things after she passed away last August. My grandmother's band is white gold and on the inside it is engraved "To Eugenia from Dick 4/18/22". I think it is so sweet. I also wear little costume earrings that match my clothes. When we move to the country in August I have a feeling that my jewelry days will be over because I want to have animals and a garden.
By the way what can I plant in the fall since I won't even be moving until August and I don't want to have to wait until next spring to start my garden. We are moving to Arkansas. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

I wear my antique wedding set my husband bought for me at a rummage sale. On my right hand an almost gaudy mothers ring with my six childrens stones and mine in the middle. A simple gold & garnet bracelet on my left wrist, a small diamond tennis bracelet on my right wrist. Small diamond studs and old fashion garnet drop earings in my ears and a granet necklace to match. My hubby gave me the necklace and earings. I also wear a non discript ankle braclet in the summer. Same jewlery every day. Boring maybe but always a easy decsion. When I'm with my Mom I also wear a shappire and diamond bracelet she bought me for my wedding. It's rather big and not my favorite but it makes her happy. When mommy's happy everyone is happy.

Pray for our troops to come home safe and soon.
Enjoying the road to the simple life :>)

Ya know, after I posted, I realized that last Saturday when my friends and I went junking, I had bought a small rhinestone pin. It had a pearl type stone in the middle and was surrounded by green stones that look like emeralds. I got it to go with earrings that my dh bought me. I realized that I hadn't seen it since the shop, and with horror figured that I threw out the bag it was in. At lunchtime went home and (gross) went through the trash to find my bag. Found it!! Thanks for jogging my memory.

I do like jewelry. I have my grandmother and great-grandmother's engagement ring that my great grandpa gave to me a few years before he passed. Of course, I always wear my wedding band & engagement ring. Love vintage jewelry too and old rhinestone pins. Wear earrings everyday and a gold bracelet in the summer. Have a watch, but never wear it. My friends always tease and ask me to wear my pearls when we go somewhere cuz they think I'm a preppie girl. No - I am a farmgirl who likes to wear my pearls!!

My "daily" jewelry includes my wedding band and solitaire engagement ring, my amythest ring on my right hand (given to me by DH b/c both kids were born in February), my watch (unless I'm doing something with water involved), small gold hoop earrings in the bottom hole and small gold ball studs in the next hole, in my upper left ear I have a tiny CZ stud (that I sometimes switch out with a tiny gold hoop), and then I have my right nostril pierced and usually wear a tiny stud but I'm looking for a tiny hoop for it. During warm weather (most of the year here) I wear 2-3 toerings also, and sometimes an ankle braclet of some kind. I'm basically a "gold" wearing person, but my watch it two-toned so I can mix and match if I want to.

I love vintage looking jewelry, earrings, necklaces and pins, but rarely wear them unless I'm dressed up a bit. I have several that were given to me by grandmothers and other people. I do need to find more occasions to wear them. Sometimes I'm a little more dressed up for work, so I'll change out the earrings and put on a necklace, but not usually.

Ooooh I love jewelry. But nothing fancy. I wear my mother's diamond ring with my wedding band. My antique engagement ring needs to be repaired and I keep forgetting to take it to the jewelers. I wear a hand made sterling and sapphire ring on my right hand. I always have a bracelet on. I've been making my own earrings lately. And a few necklaces and bracelets. I was a tomboy my whole life and at almost 46 (tomorrow!), I am learning to be girly. Well, not too girly. Just enough I think.
Hey Frannie, I have a log house necklace too. I wear it in the fall and winter with sweaters.

I am not a big jewelry girl. Of course my wedding band, a simple gold band. We where just about broke when we got married, so we bought what we could afford. I think it cost about $25.00 a Mervyns. But now I wouldn't change it for the world. I tend to most often have one of 2 special necklaces on. One is a pearl that I bought myself and had mounted, all most 20 yrs ago. The second is small key to my heart pendent that DH and the children gave me as a gift one year. Many times, I where a second ring on my right hand. I switch it around. Sometimes my mothers topaz (which I share with my sister), or one given to me by my step-mother, sometimes one of the many rings DH has given me over the years. He has given me probably 6 or so, I think he feels he has to make up for such a simple wedding band. Currently I am wearing a black onyx and silver ring that DH found in the bumber of car. Yes! bumper! He works as an Auto Body Tech! He found it while working on a customers car. The customer wasn't interested in the ring so DH brought it home.

I got out of the habit of earings years ago, while working as a secretary and receptionist. I will occasionally put a pair in for special occasions, which is about 6 times a year. I have several braceletes, and watches, but wear them less then once a year. I have aquired several pins from family members over the years, and like to wear them with jackets and sweaters in the fall and winter.

I have alot more jewels in my jewelry box then I actually wear. I always tell my daughter that someday they will be hers, however she must allow son to choose at least one piece to give his wife.

I love jewelry. Just started to see more long necklaces and thought they were awesome. so I will wear several at a time. Got a very long pearl necklace from my moms collection, and others I have found at the thrift store or garage sales. I would say I am a silver girl but do mix in gold with it.

karin .. not boring at all .. sounds like you have all the 'important' jewels a part of you!

jenny ... you too! TIME PIECES are just a scream here in central kentucky .. we are just about smack dab on the Central/Eastern (what we refer to as SLOW and FAST time zones down here! Honestly, if i leave the cabin and get to the end of the road .. if i turn right .. i'm in FAST time .. left .. and it's slow time .. but if i turn left and then left again .. i'm back in FAST time!

soooooo .. what we now do is to keep all STATIONARY clocks (in the CABINS set for SLOW time .. and if we are heading for our hometown of GREENSBURG (or points south .. we look at those clocks .. and TV runs on that time too!

ALL clocks/watches that are on something that MOVES .. (like our ARMS or CARS) .. stay on FAST time .. and when we are on the move .. except for Greensburg .. we are almost always heading for FAST time. T'was 'cornfusin' at first .. but we got it all figgered out now!

valerie .. sounds like you have special nostalgic jewels too!!!

robin .. you are a hippie chile' at heart i do believe .. WISH i could wear earrings .. cuz' i adore them .. but with my long hair always worn down .. no one can ever see them!
i tried piercing my ears TWICE .. but both times .. i got those painful cysts in them .. sooooo .. finally jus' gave up! (even tried the clip-ons .. of yesteryear) .. but i swear .. those things are a torture device! my earlobes would be BLUE in no time!

what fun to hear of all your jewels! xo
