Oh Lisa I long for a working dog. We'd love a border collie someday to help with the cows. Sigh, someday. Right now, we have our hands full. Plus, the working dog would probably end up spoiled just like our slackers! So sorry to hear about your Dane. They are beautiful animals! I haven't heard of Tasha Tudor. Will have to google her and check it out.

Thaks Jonni, although at times the barking at every leaf can be a bot much.
Tommie, I know what you mean abouut the workers. I am really a Dane girl (lost my last gal in July), & always chuckled at the thought of them being bred to hunt wild boar. Hard to get any boar from the leather couch, or when you are cowering in fear in the bathroom at the 1st sound of rain on the roof.
& as much as I love my other crazies (most of the time), I will always love the "working" dogs the best.
& I've ALWAYS wanted a Corgi, even more so after I became a fervent follower of Tasha Tudor when she was alive. How she loved her Corgis! & her illustrations of them are precious. She loved Nubian goats too, & I have 2 of those.

it struck me as funny, too, Tommie! I couldn't imagine another gal with a boy's name having dog-bottom pics. But here you are!

Lisa's clan is super great--they protect her little house on the hill from all the would be bad-guys in her little village ;O)

I'm giggling like crazy here!

And Lisa I hate to burst your bubble, but not one of our dogs are workers. lol They like to think so, but we know differently. Emily, brown boxer, inside/outside dog who wants to be a lapdog, but her legs are too long and she weighs 50lbs. Bob, Great Pyranese, outside dog who kinda works...protecting the cats! Harley, Corgi..kind of...inside/outside dog. He's not a full Corgi, he's much bigger than normal Corgi's and weighs just as much as Emily but half as tall! He definitely has a big personality and he thinks he's actually helping when its time to go feed or push some calves out of the yard.

Guy names and dog bottoms...oh my jeepers Jonni! And Lisa even said "..you GUYS must have been seperated at birth." Oh, sorry but this has just tickled me funny!

I'd love to lay in bed w/ your crew Lisa, they would be waaaaarm! And I bet Scout and Sioux are doing the little gun/wink thing at Ranger as they'r walking in.

I wondered where he was!!!!???

Yeah, she was none too happy and it was very, very cold, so that made it hurt a little more, I think!

Ouch!!! Poor baby!
I forgot to mention Jack, the Cur. He never even makes it off the couch

I know...both having "guy" names and all those dog bottoms...it's crazy ;).

I love the pic of your clan, Lisa. How funny that the other two are like, "um, that's right Ranger, you just let us know if anything goes on. We'll be right.....here..." voices trailing off as they head into the house :)

Violet does walk with daddy and the dogs, though we went on our annual Christmas Eve walk this time, in deep snow, and she fell into a wild thorn bush and thus, that ended our walk rather suddenly. She did a number to her little hand!

OK Tommie & Jonni.. you guys must have been separated at birth!
Tommie, I love your dogs, the workers. & the Corgi, the little dog with a big dog personality! Jonni, does Violet walk with Daddy & the dogs?
Here are 2 dogs butts (sorta) & one dog who aparently prefers the snow!
Ranger, the Aussie, feels it is his job to be on patrol, but Scout, the other Aussie, is a spoiled Lazy Boy girl, & Sioux, the husky mix stray, is ready to come in too!

Too cute, Tommie! I have kitteh's, too (2 of them). I love the pic of them all snuggling in the dog box. They're not stupid!!!

Yeah, we have a motley crew--our 115 lb. German Shepherd, Rose; Daisy Bad Seed, our Kentucky field Beagle; Finn, a Pittie-English Setter mix and Elie, a Pendleton County Mix (Black Lab/Collie). All from a rural shelter I worked at for several years.

Love the snow...too bad I'm looking at it from my office window! It's at least, warmer in here, I guess :)

I posted a few more pics. Jonni, you say you like the dog bottoms...but the question is do you like cat bottoms!? Yep there's a pic of that too!

Beautiful pictures! I am gearing up for some snow...it's suppose to start here in about two hours from now. They have already called off school for the day so I figure it really is gonna hit us this time. Thanks for sharing your photos...maybe tomorrow or this afternoon I can take some too!

I love those dog bottoms, Tommie! I have a pic very similar! We're more alike than we know!!!

It is currently snowing here, an inch per hour, they say. I'm not sure, but the commute in to the office was less than interesting :)

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
