Posted - Jan 05 2011 : 11:25:23 AM Violet got many wonderful toys this Christmas, but her favorites? A Jack N' the Box from my mom, and a metal "top" that I put in her stocking made by some German company that I found (on Christmas Eve) at Tuesday Morning. I guess it stands to reason that the way we live, restoring our little old house back to way it used to be, collecting vintage linens, antiques, and growing our own food, canning, etc...she WOULD like old-style toys!!!!
Last night, she came out of her room in her jammies, the Top in hand and said, "hee-yah dada, heeyah boppie" And waited for each of us to spin the top in turn.
I just got off the phone with Justin, and heard the faint sound of Pop Goes the Weasel in the background. Jus said she's been playing that Jack N the Box most of the morning!

Posted - Jan 07 2011 : 05:49:29 AM She sure, is Nini. Couldn't imagine a life without her! Last night, she fell asleep while eating--but she kept waking herself up because she REALLY wanted to eat! The cutest thing I've seen, but I imagine most parents have seen that :)

Posted - Jan 06 2011 : 06:31:06 AM It's been very funny to see "what" she enjoys this Christmas. Last Christmas, it wasn't much of anything, but she's really zeroed in on favorite things, now. She has a favorite blanket, and now these two toys. And good ole' crayons and paper. She can "cullohr" for hours on end. Have to watch her though--she gets a little carried away and goes all over the house!
@Sherry (Maryland :))--that's really funny that they called you Bobbie! We realized a few weeks back that Violet has difficulty with "m". She calls Elmo, "Elbo". And a few other m sounds are replaced with b. I'm sure that will work itself out, but it does explain "Boppie" a little more, now.
